C h a l l e n ging Acad e mics Appalachian’s learning environment feels like that of a smaller school, but it offers 140 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Originally founded as a teachers college, the university built its early reputation preparing skilled educators. Your academic major is just one part of your Appalachian education. All students also complete the General Education Program, a series of courses from across the university. These courses allow you to explore connections among academic disciplines throughout your college career. generaleducation.appstate.edu Accomplished faculty – 99 percent of full-time faculty hold the doctorate or other terminal degree in their field. They include Fulbright scholars, stellar researchers and expert teachers who love to arouse curiosity in their students.
