2018 Programme OUTDOOR / FREE EVENTS A SWING AND A PRAYER SERVICE
We remember those affected by the 1931 earthquake and give thanks for those who contributed to the resurrection of the cathedral and the city. A service of readings and prayers, hymns and music reflecting the era. Doors open at 4.15pm. Sunday 18 February, 5.00pm. Waiapu Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Browning St, Napier. ‘BORN TO MOVE’ DECO DANCERS SHOWCASE
Born to Move Studio’s Deco Dancers will once again be performing iconic Art Deco style dance throughout the City over the Tremains Art Deco Festival. As a special treat they will have a presentation of their Special Showcase which this year is a song and dance tribute to the musicals and movies of the Art Deco era. Sat 17 Feb 10.30am. BICYCLE BELLES
Dust off your vintage (or vintage lookalike) bicycle and don your Deco duds to join this leisurely cycle along the Marine Parade Pathway to West Quay Ahuriri. Sat 17 Feb 9.30am – 11.30am. Meet on the pathway behind the Napier Sound Shell. Gold coin donation on the day.

CEREMONIAL SUNSET
A ceremonial sunset by the Royal New Zealand Navy Band is a tradition in the Navy which is often used to remember those who have fallen in conflict. Fri 16 Feb, 7.30pm. Napier Sound Shell, Emerson Street and Marine Parade, Napier.
CONCORD STRINGS
Ease into the morning with local musicians from the Concord String orchestra. The orchestra will entertain you with a selection of Art Deco and Palm Court favourites including waltzes, rag time and movie themes.

Nows your chance to express yourself and perform the Charleston with hundreds of other Art Deco enthusiasts by joining in the Deco Spontane. DRY BOAT RACING

A youth focused event for Hawke’s Bay children Years 4 – 8, designed to replicate our main Gatsby Picnic. From toffee apples to candy floss and pop-corn to old-fashioned lemonade, there will be treats for both young and old.
