Madeira Whale Fest – ‘Mapping Whales’ by Blue Safari Madeira An educational activity developed around a large-scale world map with magnetic pieces representing 20 species of cetaceans, 10 of which are frequently sighted in Madeira. The activity includes three games focused on the global distribution of the species, knowledge of Madeira’s cetaceans and the use of photo-identification to recognise the different species.

Madeira Whale Fest The third edition of this festival aims to promote the cultural and economic importance of cetaceans, to intertwine the realms of the sea with education, awareness-raising, art, music and performance, to bring together various scientific, cultural and tourism stakeholders in the region, to encourage collaboration among whale-watching companies, and to raise public awareness of the ecological importance of cetaceans.
