Praça do Povo | Funchal Madeira Wine Lounge – Restaurant and Leisure Area Sunday to Thursday 18:00 to 23:00 Friday and Saturday 18:00 to 00:00 At one of the most iconic locations along Funchal’s seafront, 11 producers introduce to the public the wine-growing culture of Madeira and Porto Santo, offering the chance to deepen their knowledge of ‘Madeira’ fortified wine, as well as, still wines, the PDO ‘Madeirense’ and PGI ‘Terras Madeirenses’, whether white, red, rosé or sparkling. Beautifully decorated, the venue features several areas of interest: one dedicated to wine and its producers, one to food and wine experiences, another to IVBAM, and a ‘lounge’ area featuring live music. Tutored wine tastings are free of charge, whilst the pairing dinners are subject to a fee. Please enquire at the venue (limited seats available). Each day will feature a guest producer.

Praça do Povo | Funchal ‘TERRAUVA’ Circus Arts Show 21:30 “TERRAUVA” is an artistic concept inspired by the essence of the island’s wine-growing culture, in which the grape, wine press, basket and wine barrel, through the use of a variety of contemporary art forms, are transformed into living symbols throughout the performance. The acrobatic and dance movements, interwoven with subtle circus acts and immersive scenic effects, makes this performance a narrative that allows the audience to embark on a complete sensory journey through the entire process of transforming the grape into the ritual of sharing wine.

“From the Vineyard to the Winepress” Concerts
A series of music concerts has been held, in recent years, throughout the Region’s winegrowing heritage and landscape, in iconic venues set against a wine-growing backdrop. Organised by the Retoiça Association and spanning over two weekends, each concert lasts approximately 60 minutes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in tradition through the melodies of various musical genres, ranging from fado to more contemporary music.

Grape Harvest Festival Estreito de Câmara de Lobos Lasting four days, this popular Grape Harvest Festival is hosted at this parish. This is where it all happens! Surrounded by vineyards, the centre of this beautiful location is transformed into a living showcase of the Madeiran Grape Harvest, featuring a programme of events that highlights every aspect of this tradition. Contests featuring local producers, live grape harvesting at a Madeiran vineyard, grape treading in a wine press, an ethnographic parade, exhibitions, music performances and regional cuisine are the events organised by Associação Cultural e Recreativa do Estreito de Câmara de Lobos (ACRE), which promises

Centre of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos (in front of Quinta da Pinheira) Live Grape Harvest 10:00 The live grape harvest, which is open to public participation is one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the programme, as it offers a genuine experience of one of the most captivating stages of the entire wine-making process. This event precedes the traditional ethnographic parade, in which the local population takes part, dressed in traditional costume and accompanied by a wide variety of regional ethnographic elements associated with the grape harvest.
