Wall of Hope

Praça do Município

Symbolic creation of the Wall of Hope

More than just a symbolic moment, the creation of the Wall of Hope is one of the most moving celebrations of the Flower Festival, marked by purity, joy and the message of peace conveyed by the children.

Coming from various places around the island, they bring colourful flowers, often picked from the gardens of their own homes, to adorn the Wall of Hope. For more than four decades, this collective gesture has become one of the festival’s most striking symbols, representing the desire for a better world, based on hope, unity and harmony.

This event counts on the participation of the Camacha Children’s and Youth Folklore Groups, as well as the Ponta do Sol Folklore School, which enrich this moment with the authenticity of Madeiran traditions.
