LOGAN SHROYER BY JAY BOBBIN
âMovie: The Human Factorâ
The epic behind-the-scenes story of the United Statesâ 30-year effort to secure peace in the Middle East is the subject of Israeli filmmaker Dror Morehâs (âThe Gatekeepersâ) 2019 documentary, in which six U.S. envoys recall the ups and downs of the Palestinian-Israeli peace negotiations from the late â80s to 2000.
On-camera, Logan Shroyer has been allowed to grow up only so much on âThis Is Usâ ... but off-camera, itâs been a different story. As the teen incarnation of Kevin Pearson on the acclaimed NBC drama, Shroyer has portrayed the roots of what Justin Hartley has carried forth in playing the adult flaws of Kevin. Along with the rest of the cast, both actors start the seriesâ sixth and final season Tuesday, Jan. 4 â and though the work has meant a lot, thatâs particularly true for Shroyer in the family sagaâs home stretch. âIâve been lucky enough to work with people I really like,â the young actor reflects. âItâs been such an honor to be part of the show, and itâs such a special thing, we have to ensure that we donât take it for granted. Thatâs so easy to do, with the schedule and with making sure that youâre doing your job well. âWeâve been going through all of the last âfirsts,â â adds Shroyer. âItâs like, âThatâs the last time Iâll get the script for the first episode of the season.â Hopefully, Iâm not making myself too sad about all of that stuff, but I just want to appreciate it and be grateful.â
âMovie: Swan Songâ
Todd Stephens (âAnother Gay Movieâ) wrote, produced and directed this 2021 drama about a retired hairdresser (Udo Kier, âCourier Xâ) who escapes from his Ohio nursing home to fulfill a former clientâs dying wish that he style her hair for her funeral. Jennifer Coolidge, Linda Evans and Michael Urie also star.
Seen recently as John-Boy in âThe Waltonsâ Homecomingâ on The CW, Shroyer admits he and Hartley havenât exchanged notes on playing Kevin often: âWe had some conversations about it early on, but I would just say that the people in writing, editing, hairstyling, wardrobe ... they should be getting a lot more credit, because with the phenomenal team we have, itâs pretty hard for it to not look seamless.â Birthdate: March 10, 1999 Birthplace: Torrance, Calif. Current residence: Los Angeles Marital status: Single Other television credits include: âThe Waltonsâ Homecoming,â âSpeechless,â âGortimer Gibbonâs Life on Normal Street,â âThe Thundermans,â âWestsideâ Movie credits include: âSpeech & Debateâ On the genre that âThis Is Usâ belongs to: âThere have been certain other shows like âParenthoodâ that have been in that family-drama space, and there are similarities between the shows that are really fun.â
