Robert Adams Robert Adams (born in Orange, New Jersey, 1937) has worked as a photographer of the changing American landscape for the past five decades. More than thirty books of his photographs have been published, including The New West (1974), Listening to the River (1994), and The Place We Live (2011). Adams has received Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundation fellowships, and in 2009, he was awarded the Hasselblad Foundation International Award in Photography. His works are included in major museum collections worldwide.
