Taking my little man anywhere for lunch, provides its own set of challenges, but we were warmly greeted and accommodated. A high chair was swiftly provided and when it came time for nappy changes, the parenting room was well appointed. Wait staff made every effort to entertain my little one – a clear message of ‘family-friendly’ was received. As for the food – the menu boasted all the classic bistro-style dishes you would expect to find. I knew before I even walked in, that I would take this opportunity to eat a long overdue Chicken parma…. when in Rome. The chicken was juicy, the chips were crispy, the salad was the right kind of tangy. I may have also stuck my fork into some pumpkin risotto and found so much flavour, I instantly experienced food envy! With an indoor and outdoor area, the seating options are many, making this a great location for a small gathering, or a group celebration. The children’s play area has also been newly renovated, bringing much joy to my boy, once lunchtime was done. All in all, my time at the Altona Sports Club did not disappoint. If you are looking for a beautiful space to enjoy a good steak and chips, look no further than the Bayview Bistro. Melissa Longo *For Bookings call 9398-2283
