Brother John Bonapart Appointed to Senior Executives Services Brother John H. “J.B.” Bonapart, Jr. was recently appointed to the Senior Executive Service (SES) in the federal government. Brother Bonapart serves at the senior executive level in the Department of Defense with the U.S. Air Force as the Deputy Director of Installations and Mission Support, Headquarters Air Mobility Command (AMC), Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He is responsible for AMC expeditionary combat support and provides oversight and guidance to garrison mission support groups to ensure worldclass global mobility support. Brother Bonapart oversees AMC Civil Engineer activities, including readiness, emergency services, base development, environmental and housing programs; AMC Contracting activities, annually executing $4 billion in mission support contracts, including over $2 billion in commercial airlift contracts; AMC Security Forces activities providing force protection and information, physical, and personnel security programs for 77,000 military and civilian employees and 110,000 family members. The directorate provides policy and support to AMC’s 12 air mobility wings and manages more than $24 billion in facilities and infrastructure at 25 continental U.S. and overseas en route locations. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Brother Bonapart was commissioned in 1975 as a graduate from the Air

Force ROTC program at Fordham University, Bronx, New York, earning a Bachelor’s degree in history and a secondary school teaching certificate. Brother Bonapart also holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University in California. Prior to assuming his current position, he was the Associate Director, Directorate of Strategic Plans, Programs, Analyses, Assessments and Lessons Learned, HQ Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. Brother Bonapart is one of 12 civil service employees to graduate from the first SES Federal Candidate Development Program sponsored by the Office of Personnel Management in Washington, D.C.
Garcia’s third joint award in as many years, having received two higher Secretary of Defense awards, Joint Service Commendation Medals and one Joint Meritorious Unit Award from U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Special Operations Command South and U.S. Joint Forces Command’s Standing Joint Force Headquarters. Currently, Brother Garcia is serving a short tour at Headquarters, Department of the Army, Operations. Brother Garcia is a combat veteran of Desert Storm and has been on missions to Haiti, Baghdad, Kabul and Beirut. Brother Garcia was recently named in a landmark decision in the famed Butterbaugh lawsuit and was victorious in another major case bearing his name in an Atlanta federal court. Brother Garcia is a life member of the Fraternity.
Secretary of Defense Award Given to Brother Marc Garcia Brother Marc A. Garcia was awarded the Secretary of Defense, Joint Service Achievement Medal for meritorious service in the U.S. armed forces as an end of tour award and farewell. LTC Garcia distinguished himself while serving as an Action Officer, Operational Plans and Joint Force Development Directorate, Joint Staff, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Brother Garcia also served as the Deputy Team Chief for the Joint Staff, Crisis Response Cell deep in the underground National Military Command Center, supporting disaster relief operations in Pakistan and India. Brother Ronald Green Serving Second Term On Houston City Council Brother Ronald C. Green is serving in his second term as a Houston City Council Member. A native Houstonian and active community partner, he was first elected to the City Council, At-Large Position Four, in December 2003 and re-elected in November 2005 with 100 percent of the vote. Brother Green serves as Chairman of the City’s Budget and Fiscal Affairs Committee, which oversees all fiscal matters and initiatives to improve management and efficiency of city service
