Lo scopo del workshop, organizzato dalla città di Fiume, era quello di recuperare una vasta fascia di città che si estende lungo il fiume. L’area di intervento si sviluppa dall’ex cartiera fino al Delta del fiume (ora occupato da edifici industriali abbandonati) e piega verso il corso principale. Formando una sorta di L La strategia delle “L” multiple vede incrociarsi tre “L” nella citta: quella degli spazi pubblici, quella del verde e quella delle infrastrutture. Le principali azioni della strategia sono: 1. demolizione selettiva di edifici abbandonati e non utilizzati; 2. Conservazione degli esempi più significativi di archeologia industriale; 3. Sostituzione degli edifici industriali nel Delta con una griglia urbana che riprende il modello a corti della città del 19 ° secolo; 4. Creazione di due poli culturali all’inizio e alla fine del percorso (localizzazione alternativa del Museo di Arte Contemporanea presso la cartiera, e una nuova Concert Hall lungo il Waterfront)
The purpose of the workshop, organized by the city of Rijeka, was to retrieve a wide strip of towns along the River. The area of intervention develops from the old paper’s factory to the Delta of the river now occupied by derelict industrial buildings. The strategie of multiple “L”s is composed by the L of public spaces, the L of enviroment and the L of infrastructure. The main actions of the strategie are: 1. selective clearing of abandoned and un-used buildings along the entire site; 2. Preservation of the mos significant examples of industrial archaeology; 3. Replacement of the industrial buildings on the Delta with an urban grid that extends the pattern of blocks of the 19th century developement; 4. Establishment of two primary cultural poles at both ends of the site (alternative location of the Contemporary Art Museum at the Hartera, and New Concert Hall on the Waterfront)

Per favorire il recupero dell’area di sei ettari dell’ExFonderie Camplone si è scelto di posizionarvi una varietà di funzioni: il progetto prevede infatti la realizzazione della nuova sede del palazzo della regione Abruzzo, di edifici residenziali, di spazi per il commercio, di servizi per cittadini e residenti e di un parco attrezzato per lo sport ed il tempo libero. Ogni lato del lotto si confronta con strade diverse e si adatta quindi a contesti discordi. Perciò, lungo la via Tiburtina si è scelto di collocare case basse con negozi e servizi a piano terra, perché la strada si presta bene ad accogliere un marciapiede con vetrine. Il lato lungo la ferrovia, invece, non cerca di stabilire un rapporto diretto con un ipotetico pedone che attraversi quella strada. Perciò si cerca di creare un rapporto tra l’edificio e l’automobile. All’interno del lotto corre un’altra strada - pedonale - parallela alla ferrovia, che si relazione con l’edificio ibrido da un lato e con il parco dall’altro, facendo da spina dorsale del progetto. Lungo il lato verso la stazione è stato creato, riutilizzando il terreno di riporto, un dosso artificiale che nasconde i parcheggi e protegge il parco e le residenze dall’inquinamento acustico della ferrovia. Il parco si pone come cuore verde per le zone residenziali che cresceranno a sud.
To encourage the redevelopment of six acres exindustrial area in Pescara I chosed to place a variety of functions: the project comprises the construction of the Abruzzo regional government’s building, residential buildings, commercial, services to citizens and residents and a park for sport and leisure. Each side of the lot is confronted with different contexts and adapts itself on each situation. So, along the Via Tiburtina I chosed to put houses with shops and services on the ground floor, because the road is suitable to accommodate a sidewalk with shops and restaurants. The long side of the railroad, however, does not seek to establish a direct relationship with a hypothetical pedestrian crossing the street. So I tried to create a relationship between building and cars. Within the batch runs another pedestrian road parallel to the railway, which is related to the hybrid building on one side and the park on the other, becoming the backbone of the project. Along the side facing the station has been created, reusing the moved earth, a bump that hides and protects the car park and the residences from the noise of the railway. The park itself becomes the green heart of the new residential district that will grow by the south side.

Ciò che risulta immediato nel Forte Portuense é la mancata percezione dello stesso. Il carattere mimetico tipico di un edificio militare qui diviene degrado e isolamento. Da queste considerazioni prende avvio il percorso progettuale, finalizzato a riscoprire, rivalorizzare e ridonare alla città questa memoria storica. Il “limite” del forte viene riportato al suo fossato, e non più alle varie sedimentazioni che gli si sono sviluppate intorno. A ciò è seguita la riorganizzazione funzionale delle preesistenti attività del contesto al fine di servire le esigenze del quartiere, e dall’altro lato la specializzazione dell’area del Forte come struttura a servizio della città. Dallo studio della forma dell’edificio e dalle sue caratteristiche di isolamento acustico e visivo, nasce l’idea di destinare quest’ultimo ad attività polifunzionali rivolte alla produzione musicale.
The first thing we noticed in the Portuense fort was that it is out of perception. The mimetic character typical of a military building here becomes degraded and isolation. From these considerations, the route starts with a project which aims to discover, improve and give back to the city this historical memory. The limit of the fort is restored to its moat, and not to the various sediments that have been developing around allover the years. This has been followed by a functional reorganization of existing equipments of the context in order to serve the needs of the district, and on the other hand, to change the area of the fort to a structure that serves all the city of Rome. The study of the shape of the building and its visual and acoustic insulating properties, suggested the idea of transforming it into a multifunctional activities aim at producing music and host concerts.

L’idea di base del progetto è quella di eliminare gli spazi dedicati alle automobili a favore di spazi verdi e pubblici. A livello urbano, l’idea di fondo è: eliminare tutti questi non-luoghi e trasformarli in delle “Enclave verdi”. Ottenendo così una piccola città pedonale dove la prospettiva è modificata dalla dimensione della strada. Questo potrebbe generare una comunità eterogenea, un melting-pot sociale in un micro-sistema auto-sufficiente, un modo nuovo di vivere, nuova idea di “benessere”, una nuova forma sostenibile di vita quotidiana.
The idea was that by removing the urban traffic flows and the inner spaces assigned at the car parking, is possible to channel a significant part of space into pubblic green and room. At urban level, the underlying idea is: take away from the area apportion of non-lieu to transform it in a “green Enclave”. A little pedestrian town, people friendly, where the outlooks are modified by the size of the ways itself. This would generate an heterogeneus community, a social melting-pot of a self-sufficient micro-system, a stage of new ways of life, new ideas of well-being, new forms of sustainable daily life.

Obiettivo: realizzare un cabinato carrellabile di 10 mt, di impronta sportiva ma adatto anche a brevi soggiorni confortevoli con spazi comuni per 2/4 persone. L’imbarcazione presenta un pozzetto ampio e confortevole con elementi trasformabili e removibili, una coperta libera e dalle linee pulite ed una tuga bassa per consentire la massima libertà di visuale in navigazione.

Point: to build a 10 meters long boat act for action but also suitable for short trips with comfortable spaces for 2/4 persons. The boat has a large comfortable living space with transformable elements, removable covers, a free and clean upper deck and a low cabin that allows maximum visual freedom during the navigation.

Progetto per l’estensione a sud del comune di Picanya (VLC). L’estensione è racchiusa tra l’attuale linea della ferrovia a nord ed un’autostrada verde a sud. La successione delle varie zone (commerciale, case singole, residenze a più piani, orti urbani, ecc..) avviene in maniera perpendicolare ai binari, di modo che ai viaggiatori nel treno il comune si presenti come una successione di zone di carattere diverso e si autosponsorizzi per il turismo. Uno studio di dettaglio è stato poi fatto per la zona commerciale caratterizzata da un lungo boulevard attrezzato e da strade pedonali e carrabili alternate.
Project for the south extension of the town of Picanya (VLC). The extension is enclosed trough the present railway line on the north side and a green highway on the south one. The sequence of the different zones (commercial, individual houses, residential buildings, urban gardens, etc...) is disposed perpendicular to the tracks, so the town appears to train’s passengers as a succession of zones of various kinds so it can self-sponsored itself for tourism. A detailed study was then done for the shopping area characterized by a long boulevard with facilities and pedestrian and vehicular traffic alternate routes.

L’obiettivo del progetto è quello di creare un spazio dove il pubblico ed il privato si fondano al punto che diventi difficile trovare la linea di separazione tra di essi. Oggetto principale del progetto è una passerella sospesa a 5 metri d’altezza che inizia il suo percorso dallo spazio aperto, pubblico, con la funzione di terrazza ( vista verso il parco del Turia e la piazza), di ponte di connessione verso il museo, e copertura per ospitare esposizioni all’aperto. La passerella entra poi nell’edificio di esposizioni dalla porta principale creando uno spazio a doppia altezza ed infine esce di nuovo dall’edificio sfondando il muro di cemento a sud e tornando ad avere la funzione di terrazza/“mirador” verso il Turia.
The project purpose is to create a space where the publics and the privates are so involved that it becomes difficult to find the dividing line between them. The core of the project is a walkway suspended at a 5 meters height, which begins its journey from the public open space, where performs the function of a terrace (view towards the Turia’s park and to the public square), of a bridge connecting to the museum, and of a coverage for the outdoor exhibition space. The walkway then enters the building through the front door, creating a two levels exhibition space and finally exits from the building breaking through the concrete wall on the south front and returning to serve the function of a terrace/”mirador” towards the Turia.

Il concept del progetto consiste nell’utilizzo di 8 moduli abitativi base che si incastrano per formare un volume definito e compatto. Attorno ad uno spazio pubblico centrale si uniscono spazi pubblici e privati. Gli ambienti comuni si alternano a diverse altezze con quelli privati che si incastrano tra loro in un gioco che ricorda il “tetris”. La struttura principale è in cemento armato mentre il ponte centrale ha una struttura in acciaio. L’edificio e rivestito da pannelli di cemento armato.
The concept of the project is to use eight housing modules that fit together to form a defined and compact volume. All around the central space public and private spaces live together. The common areas are situated at different heights and the private spaces fit together in a game that recalls the “Tetris”. The main structure is in concrete while the central bridge is made of a steel structure. The building is covered with panels of reinforced concrete.

Il primo dei tre progetti eseguiti nel laboratorio di progettazione 3 durante il periodo di erasmus presso l’università di Valencia consisteva nel creare un’abitazione singola per una famiglia. La casa è stata rialzata lasciando libero lo spazio inferiore dove una serra è rinchiusa in un parallelepipedo di vetro in cui è ubicato l’ingresso e le scale che portano al piano alto. La copertura è realizzata con un “sombrero” fatto di lamelle d’acciaio e dei cassettoni che a seconda della loro posizione sono trasparenti, traslucidi o opachi per consentire la migliore illuminazione in tutti gli ambienti.

The first of the three projects made in the “Taller de projecto 3” during the period of Erasmus at the University of Valencia was to create a single dwelling for a family. The house was raised, leaving the space below free, where a greenhouse is enclosed in a glass box where it is located the entrance and the stairs leading to the top floor. The roof is made of a “sombrero” made of steel plates and drawers that, according to their position, are transparent, translucent or opaque to allow better lighting in all the spaces of the house.

benevento, italy Il seminario di progettazione architettonica itinerante Villard è stata una importante esperienza nel corso della mia carriera universitaria. Il progetto eseguito durante il workshop di 9 mesi si occupa della riqualificazione di 3 piazze nella città di Benevento situate a tre quote diverse. La soluzione proposta è quella di fornire a queste 3 quote un’unica quota di riferimento comune a tutte; così nella piazza superiore (quota +1) una galleria d’arte viene scavata nella terra raggiungendo il livello 0; piazza risorgimento (quota 0) viene mantenuta al suo livello e viene resa flessibile grazie a materiali differenti ed oggetti mobili (sedute, chioschetti, alberi, ecc…). Nell’ultima piazza una piastra, mantenendo la quota 0, si estende al di sopra del nuovo nodo di interscambio e ne configura lo spazio attraverso una serie di fori che accolgono le risalite, box commerciali e spazi per l’attesa.
The architecture’s nine months itinerant workshop Villard was an important experience during my university career. The project executed during the workshop consists of the redevelopment of 3 squares in the city of Benevento located at three different altitudes. The proposed solution is to provide the three levels of a single common reference level to all, so in the upper square (level 1) a gallery was dug in the ground to reach the level 0; Piazza Risorgimento (level 0) is maintained at its level and is made flexible due to different materials and objects furniture (chairs, kiosks, trees, etc ...). In the last square has been placed a plate that, keeping the level 0, extends above the new interchange station and configures the space through a series of holes that host lifts, garages and commercial spaces.

Progetto di un’abitazione temporanea per un ricercatore all’interno della riserva naturale delle Gole del Sagittario. L’intervento è leggero e reversibile con il più basso impatto possibile sull’ambiente circostante. L’abitazione si pone come una copertura tesa che segue il dislivello del terreno e sotto questa copertura un parallelepipedo di cristallo protetto da bris soleil sembra quasi scomparire tra gli alberi. Il laboratorio si è svolto in collaborazione con il WWF Abruzzo.
Temporary housing project for a researcher site in the natural reserve “Gole del Sagittario”. The intervention is light and reversible with the lowest possible impact on the surrounding environment. The house stands as a hedge tense that follows the slope of the ground and under his cover a rectangular glass box seems to desappear through the trees. The workshop was held in collaboration with WWF Abruzzo.

b-Rex
progetto segnalato B-rex non è né un divano, né un letto, ma un oggetto che accorpa una infinità di funzioni. Rilassarsi non vuol dire per forza isolarsi, per questo B-rex non ha una collocazione definita, è un luogo di aggregazione e può essere fruito da più persone contemporaneamente (mentre il bambino gioca, il papà legge). La sua conformazione fluida e senza restrizioni, permette di adattarlo ad ogni angolo della casa e di utilizzarlo nel modo in cui ci sentiamo più ispirati in quel momento. Le sue due facce ricordano la pelle di uno strano animale: da una parte una corazza protettiva, dall’altra una soffice parete dentro cui arrotolarsi e sentirsi protetti come da un guscio che ci scherma dal movimento frenetico del mondo che lasciamo fuori.
B-rex is not a couch or a bed, but an object that puts together a multitude of functions. Relax doesn’t means just isolating, that’s why B-rex doesn’t have a fixed place, but is a meeting place and can be enjoyed by several people at once (while the child plays, dad reads). His fluid and free conformation allows to adapt it to every corner of the house and use it in the way we feel most inspired at that moment. His two faces remember the skin of a strange animal: one is a protective shell, the other one is a soft wall inside which you can roll and feel protected from a screen that stops the bustle of the world we leave outside.

This is a small collection of 3d renderings made on several occasions with mixed using of software such as Rhinoceros, 3D Studio Max, Cinema 4D, V-Ray, Photoshop, etc . Several jobs can not be displayed due to copyrighted properties of the offices for which they were made.
