A Minion Reasons to Recycle with Leslie Sattler

In honor of Earth Day, children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to the Glen Cove Public Library, 4 Glen Cove Ave., from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to make a Minion craft using recycled materials. Life Enrichment Center

Pancake Breakfast

The Life Enrichment Center in Oyster Bay, 45 E. Main St., Oyster Bay, will be hosting a pancake breakfast complete with scram bled eggs, two pan cakes, sausage, hash browns, orange juice, a fruit cup and coffee or tea. Enjoy all of this for $15 ($8 for kids 10 and under). There will also be a “pot of gold raffle” with $5 tickets, or three tickets for $10. For more information and reservations, call 516-922-1770.

Hiking Long Island

Lee McAllister will be at the Oyster BayEast Norwich Public Library, 89 E Main St. in Oyster Bay, at 7 p.m. to discuss the many hiking opportunities available on Long Island. The lecture encompasses the geology history (natural and human), flora, fauna and topographical features that make Long Island such an interesting place to hike in any season. Concert At North Shore Historical Museum

Tenor Joe Stroppel will present an afternoon of classic music from Broadway and the Great American Songbook. A Glen Cove native and junior at Hunter College, Stroppel will be accompanied by pianist Tess Loucka, and the hour-long program will feature music by George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Cole Porter, along with modern composers such as Stephen Sondheim and Lin-Manuel Miranda. NYC themed refreshments served. Cost is $20, or $15 for members. The concert will be at North Shore Historical Museum, 140 Glen Street in Glen Cove.
