SPORT Bus service for Derby County supporters THERE have been requests to organise a private bus from Melbourne to Pride Park for Derby County FC home matches. A bus already operates from the Bridge Inn at Chellaston, but if there is sufficient demand the Chellaston service can be extended to begin at Melbourne and return to Melbourne after games. The bus drops passengers off at the entrance to the football ground, arriving there about 15 minutes before kick-off. If there is adequate support for the scheme a convenient pick-up and drop-off point will be arranged at Melbourne. Any football fans who are interested in this service, should contact Dave Allsopp on 01332 704090 or mobile 07967 640547

It’s a four-star show for the Dynamoes MELBOURNE Dynamoes have recaptured their stunning form from last season winning four of their five league games and climbing the table to sixth place by the end of the month. They began September away to top of the table Willington and a superb team performance earned them a resounding 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Alex Slater, Skipper Lee Scott and John Mills. This was followed by a lacklustre 2-0 away loss at Rowsley but was soon forgotten as Dynamoes beat local rivals Chellaston 31 in their first home game of the season with Slater (2) and Scott getting on the score-
sheet. Then came another 3-1 home win, this time against Sandiacre Town. A Danny Guild tap-in, a clinical Dave Brough finish and a bullet header by Slater completed the scoring. The team ended the month with a 3-0 win away to Ashover with a Carl Allsopp header, a screamer by Gaz Annable and an Alex Slater corner going straight in to achieve a complete turnaround in the team's performances. The Reserves, however, have shown indifferent form winning just two of their five games in September and losing the other three. They began the month with a brief stay
at the top of the table thanks to a 1-0 away win at Derby Singh Brothers, leading goalscorer Alex Slater getting the only goal. But this was followed by a disappointing 21 away defeat to Mickleover R.B.L.Reserves in the Challenge Cup with Farrell Scott getting the consolation. This was forgotten a week later following a superb 6-2 win away to Bargate Rovers Reserves in the Junior Cup with Neil Redfern hitting a brace along with goals from Farrell Scott, a Vinny Hallifield thunderbolt plus clinical finishes by Jack Tivey and Tom Jennings. The Reserves finished the month with two 1-0 defeats to Woolley Moor United and Pastures Reserves.
TICKNALL ARE BACK IN THE BIG TIME TICKNALL Cricket Club are back in the Derbyshire Premier League having being relegated two years ago. They had looked firm contenders for most of the season and did not lose a game from July 10. They were constantly chased by both local rivals Swarkestone and Rolls-Royce for the second promotion place – a position that wasn’t resolved until the final weekend of the season. With Ticknall's batsmen chasing a modest total of 80, they
slumped to 20-4 before Paul Borrington and Shahid Khan rescued the situation to see them back in the Premiership for the 2011 season. This was a great effort from everyone involved at the club. It will be Rolls-Royce joining Ticknall in the premier league having had an exceptional last weekend of the season and pipping Swarkestone by one point.
