I’ve created a game that questions what it means to be a pious Catholic. Having been raised as a Roman Catholic by extremely religious parents, I’ve seen what passes as a good Catholic: No matter what sin you do as long as you’ve come to the confession booth on your local church you are absolved of whatever horror you have done and are a good catholic. Even if this means confessing to an equally hypocrite priest who probably molests church boys.

I’ve created this infographic asa little manifestation of my inner stalker mode/ judgy chracter. It is something unsavory but I’m not one to claim that I do not have this rotten trait. Without going down facebook’s rabbit hole, I sometimes see people who have treated me unkindly in the past and have secretly enjoyed when their lives turn into a sad and funny soap opera due to karma. Karma fucking works - and I made a basic illustration of it.

DESIGNER’S NOTES: History is my father’s passion. Growing up, my father would retell these historical stories from my country’s foundation to the world wars. Naturally, this passion became instilled in me. Having learnt of New York’s history from a class I took in a community college, I became enamored with these homes that somehow survived wars, modernization, the soaring real-estate market and the high rise buildings. As part of VIVRE magazine, I thought that it would be fitting to include an article about these homes that became the bedrock of what New York is now.

DESIGNER’S NOTES: St. James Infirmary is probably one of my most favorite songs. And truly no one else can deliver the song like Cab Calloway. When asked to choose the singer for this excercise, without hesitation, I picked him. Professors Ryann and Wyeth made sure that I will find the excercise extremely challenging by picking songs that were ways in the future of Cab Calloway. Using that whole concept -the future- I realized that the past lay in the memorabillia that we produce for the future. Having this idea, i looked into old notes, drawings, and pictures and decided to create the identity with sentimental items.
