Η γειτονιά του σχολείου μας
Our school area
Our school is in the market area of our town. In this area there are a lot of blocks of flats and shops. The name of our school is 19th primary school. It is on Megalou Alexandrou Street. It has got two floors and twelve classrooms. In front of the school there is a pedestrian crossing and traffic lights. So we can cross the street safely when the light is green. Drivers must be very careful.
Behind the school there is a small park. I usually play here with my friends in the afternoon. There is a small post office opposite our school. It’s on the corner of two streets. There is a small supermarket between the post office and a pet shop. I sometimes go shopping here with my paren
There is also a pet shop opposite the park. Here you can find lovely puppies, kittens, small turtles and birds. You can also buy food or accessories for your pet.
Saint Antonios’ church is between the cinema and the police station. I come here with my family every Sunday morning. Across the street on the right of the school, there is a bookstore. It is the biggest in my town. You can find a lot of books and school objects here. The police station is opposite a block of flats. Here is my house. I live on the second floor. In this area you can find anything you need.

The square of Freedom
This is the square of Freedom in the centre of our town, Serres. Here you can see the Town Hall, the archaeological museum and a café. The Town Hall is on the corner of Athinas st. and Ermou st. Next to the Town Hall there is the statue of a Macedonian hero, Emmanouel Pappas. The museum is on the other corner of the square. It is a very big and old building. It has got two doors and few small windows. I like going to the museum because here I learn the history of our town.

The area around the hospital
Out of our town, on the way to the sea, there is an area with some big buildings, the hospital, a sports center, a department store and the national swimmimg pool. Around the hospital there are a lot of trees and a large parking for cars. The sports center is opposite the hospital. We play football, basketball or tennis when we go with our school there. Across the road there is a huge department store called Jumbo. I like going there because there are a lot of toys and wonderful school things. In his area there is also the swimming pool. It is next to Jumbo. Pupils from our school come here every Wednesday.
