Bob and Velynna Spangler have been leaders of the Checkrow Volunteers for 22 years, serving with Bob’s parents and others. Bob is also a Fulton County 4-H Shooting Sports volunteer. Velynna has mentored many 4-H members with their performing arts projects. Both have served as 4-H general show judges and beef weigh-in helpers, assisted at livestock shows, and served on various committees and boards that support Extension and 4-H. They have four children who have carried on the 4-H tradition.

Marilyn Blakeley Mason County

Marilyn Blakeley has a love for the Lord, her family, her friends, and her community. Mixed in the middle of all of that is her love for 4-H! For Marilyn, “Making the Best Better” is a lifestyle. She has helped her four children and ten grandchildren with many 4-H livestock projects as well as projects that range from teaching them to sew to raising bees. She and her husband Don reside in rural Kilbourne. Marilyn was an eight-year member of the Kilbourne Ramblers 4-H Club.
