distance to Pretoria. Choose a home close to work as you can spend up to three hours per day in rush-hour traffic. Most people choose to live in townhouses within secure, cluster developments. Depending on area, you can expect to pay between R1-R5 million for one of these. Initially, you may want to rent furnished accommodation and can expect to pay R5,000–R10,000 per month for a three-bedroom apartment or house. Weather Johannesburg enjoys a fairly mild and comfortable climate. During the summer months from October to April heavy afternoon thunderstorms with downpours of rain are very common, while winters are dry and very cold with frost even appearing at night.
