Making an

impact ‘I want you boys to realise that we have a wonderful chance here to make a great school, a blessing to ourselves, and a gift to Australia.’ FOUNDER OF THE SCHOOL, CANON MORRIS

From the Chairman While the Churchie Foundation was formed only 29 years ago, Churchie has a proud history of generosity received from many benefactors since its inception in 1912. In this way, the Churchie Foundation is the formalisation and custodian of over 100 years of giving.

$2.5m CONTRIBUTED TO ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS SINCE 2008

Churchie is a great school, reflected in the young men who graduate from Oaklands Parade. I believe it has the best facilities and buildings of any school. For this we are indebted to the generations of parents and Old Boys who have contributed in so many ways to the wonderful campus we see today. They are people who understood that our great school needs continuing support to offer our boys the best opportunity we can afford them. Our history is full of generous acts of giving and community fundraising efforts, including Headmaster Roberts receiving a cheque in the mail from an Old Boy to create the Preparatory School building project and collective efforts to build the Canon Jones Memorial Chapel and Morris Hall. Giving back to Churchie is ingrained. Giving enables the provision of facilities and programmes to provide the best possible education and school life.

$1.4m CONTRIBUTED TO BURSARIES SINCE 2008

We celebrate the wonderful giving at Churchie. It is a historic legacy of which we can all be proud. The Foundation’s role is to see that this tradition of greatness is maintained, and we ask you to consider what you may be able to do to ensure our continued strength and excellence. I am proud to work alongside our dedicated and experienced Foundation Board, whose members bring a wealth of philanthropic knowledge to guide us on our philanthropic journey. In a world rapidly changing, please help us continue to maintain Churchie as a leading educational institution in the development of fine young men.

THE IMPACT OF GIVING

Churchie gave me a lot, much more than just a good education and a great start to life, but lifelong friendships and lasting memories too. As an Old Boy I’m pleased to be able to give something back.

We believe Churchie plays a vital role in the growth and development of our young men. Giving back to the Churchie community, that has helped mould our boys into the confident young men they are today, is a privilege.

When we look at our two sons, we see Churchie in the past. When we look at our four grandsons, we see Churchie in the future. We love our family, and we love our Churchie. Together, let us build up Churchie as we build up our families.

The first gift was the hardest. After that, it was easier and always rewarding. Knowing that I am helping more boys get a Churchie education is important to me and something of which I am proud.

My family holds our relationship with Churchie over three generations with the utmost respect. It is a pleasure to be able to give back to Churchie in some small way, to ensure future generations have the same Churchie experience that my family continues to enjoy today.

Churchie has been a big part of our family for generations. We believe the world needs more Churchie boys.
