This book highlights some of the special businesses, attractions, opportunities and history that make up the Greater Angleton area. Leadership Angleton Leadership Angleton is designed to promote and foster the development of community leaders for the Angleton Area by acquainting program participants with the area’s assets, needs, and opportunities. This program provides a forum to discuss community challenges with representatives from the Angleton area. By providing an awareness of the continuous growth of the area, Leadership Angleton strives to stimulate leadership skills and motivate participants to choose an area of interest for active involvement upon graduation from the program. The ultimate goal of Leadership Angleton is to build community leaders for today and tomorrow. The effectiveness of personal involvement in the future development of Angleton can be enhanced through increased knowledge of the community’s history, citizenry, and social and economic make-up. It is the intent of the Leadership Angleton program to provide a foundation of such knowledge which potential leaders will use to aid their involvement in community affairs. Since joining the Greater Angleton Chamber of Commerce I feel like a part of this community. The Chamber has opened many doors for me and has allowed me to meet business leaders as well as local government officials. It has allowed me to showcase our emergency room and educate the community on our services. I was new to the area when Altus Emergency Center opened but because of the relationships I have made through the chamber I feel a special bond with the people of this community. Being a part of the Leadership program introduced me to places and services I was not aware of in the area and it also allowed me to meet fellow business leaders who I am now happy to call my friends. It is a privilege to be a member of such an active group who are in touch with what is happening in the community. As a business leader, building a strong referral network is essential.
