In the House
By Marcelle Renkin, Program Coordinator Far mers’ Market Season a Great Success
March saw the wrap up of a very successful inaugural Anglesea Twilight Farmers Market season. With over 8000 visitors to our market over the season, we are inspired by such great support for this community event.

Special thanks go to our Market Manager, James McLennan, for all his hard work getting a full season up and running, as well as our Committee of Management and other volunteers who have made it possible for us to bring a COVID-Safe event to our local community.
We were excited to collaborate with James, who approached the Community House with the idea for a local Farmers Market, to get the event up and running, and to secure a license to run the market for three seasons. Keep a look out for the confirmation of 20212022 season dates.
Choose to Challenge
Our first in-house event was held in March to celebrate the International Women’s Day theme Choose to Challenge. It was fantastic to have almost 30 inspiring women come together to share stories and celebrate achievements.
This event has also shown how we can socialise and celebrate safely in a postCOVID world.
Workshops & Courses
This term we are excited to bring some new workshops and courses to you right here in our local community, including technology support, meditation and mindfulness, Eco Craft school holiday workshops for kids ... and more!
With the support of volunteers, the Community House is also offering a ‘Digital Device Help’ weekly drop-in session.
Due to the difficulty in getting sufficient numbers for ongoing Computer and Technology support courses, we are now trialling the dropin model.
We hope to be able to support people on an individual basis to better understand and access digital technology in a way that fits in with individual lifestyles and needs.
Starting from 20April (running during school terms), from 1-3pm you can come down to the Community House and get the help you need.
Whether it be downloading/uploading photos, setting up an email account, help to make a spreadsheet, or anything else that you require, we’ll have expert advice on hand to assist.
You can find out more information about a course, workshop or volunteering opportunity that might interest you in our Events and Activities Guide or on our updated website at www.anglesea.org.au.
4 Anglesea Snappers
Inspired by the wealth of skill, knowledge and passion for photography in the community, local resident, Deb Elliot reached out to the Community House looking for a space for people to come together to share their passion.
We are happy to be able to introduce the Anglesea Snappers Photography Club, which meets on Thursday evenings at the House.
The club will provide an opportunity for people to come together to share photos and to learn from each other. Guest speakers will present to the group, and a range of excursions have been organised.
New members are always welcome. Check out the information in the enclosed Courses, A ctivities and Events guide.
