Direct-injection technology helps improve fuel combustion and engine efficiency, and it helps power many of the drivers in the IZOD IndyCar ® Series. We’ve taken that same technology and incorporated it into the Accord’s 4-cylinder i-VTEC ® engine.

The Accord Hybrid. Elegance and efficiency come together beautifully in the all-new 2014 Accord Hybrid. It has an impressive 50-mpg city rating5 without sacrificing any of the sophistication and luxury youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve come to expect from an Accord. Powered by our brilliant hybrid drive system, the Accord Hybrid has three driving modes that yield a remarkable combination of performance and efficiency. And with a style that echoes the ninth-generation Accord, the Accord Hybrid also features a number of hybrid-only details, such as a blue-accented grille and lights, a unique wheel design, and more. The Accord Plug-In. We made an enormous leap in hybrid-electric technology. The Accord Plug-In features a rechargeable power source, has three driving modes, and boasts staggering efficiency ratings like a 570-mile total driving range and 115 MPGe.6 But what makes the Plug-In truly special is that it never stopped being an Accord. It offers all the performance, engineering and comfort that youâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ve come to expect from Honda. The Accord Plug-In is available in New York and California. And the industry blogs are buzzing about it.

Being eco-conscious has its perks. Uncle Sam is all for hybrid-electric efficiency. That’s why owners of an Accord Plug-In are eligible for up to $3,636 in federal tax credits.7 And Californians who own the Accord Plug-In can apply for state tax rebates of up to $1,500 through the CA Clean Vehicle Rebate Project. And more good news for Californians: Accord Plug-In owners are eligible for single-occupant HOV lane access.

When the battery low charge indicator comes on, the Plug-In can be fully recharged in less than three hours from a dedicated 120-volt outlet, and in less than an hour using a 240-volt circuit.8

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) All Accord models feature 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock brakes (ABS). ABS modulates the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup and help the driver retain steering control during hard braking.
