Introduction: If you have a degree or management experience, the GDL is the ideal platform to commence your law career. Our programme is designed to help you make the transition and no prior knowledge of the law is needed. It fully prepares you for the next step in your training — whether you want to become a solicitor or barrister. Once you’ve completed your GDL exams, you have the opportunity to specialise or develop an understanding in alternative areas. Take two extra modules and graduate with an LLB (Hons) [GDL Conversion], adding great value to your CV. When you have passed your GDL, you’re guaranteed a place on our Legal Practice Course (LPC), the next step to becoming a solicitor. Or you can apply for our Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC), the next step to becoming a barrister. Programme Content: Our GDL offers more than a standard law conversion programme. Every GDL provider covers the seven core areas of law and legal research, but we go one step further. We’ll offer you the opportunity to learn specialist areas of the law, such as Company Law, and an additional skills programme to refine the key skills sought after by law firms, such as communication and legal writing skills. In addition, you can take advantage of our specialist legal Careers Service, and put your learning into practice through our award-winning Pro Bono Centre. Trusted by the profession to exclusively train over 25 of the leading law firms’ trainees, you will be in good company and on the right path to a successful career in law.
