TV AVAILABILITIES 2011 President Mogens Glad, one of the pioneers in the international software business, founded ANGEL FILMS in 1988 as a small, dynamic art-house company aiming at producing and importing feature films. Ambitions grew and Angel Films is now the parent company of one of the fastest growing independent media groups in Scandinavia, ranging over divisions handling production, distribution, facility services and Studios. In 2001, Poul Erik Lindeborg joined the executive board as vice president and general manager. Angel Scandinavia is the rights-holding company in Angel Films. Focusing on co-productions, acquisitions, distribution and sales of national and international productions, Angel Scandinavia acquires and handles 10 to 15 Danish and international feature films per year. Angel Scandinavia attends most of the international film festivals and TV-markets across the world. Angel Scandinavia handle pre-sales and sales of theatrical distribution rights, TV-rights, video/DVD/VOD rights and remake rights for international, Nordic and local feature films. With a catalogue of 150 titles available for international sales, Angel Scandinavia offers a broad range of films in all genres. Our successes includes films by critically acclaimed feature documentary directors such as Jørgen Leth, Tomas Gislason and Anders Østergaard, who’s Hot-Docs-award winning feature documentary Tintin et Moi has been sold to more than 30 countries. Angel Scandinavia furthermore holds world rights for some of the biggest Danish theatrical successes and award winning feature films in recent years such as Shake it, Okay and Nynne. We also handle sales of the critically acclaimed TV series Nynne, The Series (13 episodes/42 minutes). The series was presold to 9 countries and is still a very popular item on the TV and DVD markets. As co-producer Angel Scandinavia’s merits includes the Academy Award nominated and Golden Palm Winner Dancer in the Dark by Lars Von Trier, the international documentary feature Screaming Masterpiece and feature films such as White Night (2007/Nimbus) and Fighter (2007/Nimbus). Angel Scandinavia attends festivals and markets to acquire national or Scandinavian rights for feature films and documentaries. We look for both arthouse films and for more commercially oriented productions. Our focus is on European feature films, American Independents and World Cinema titles. We have in recent years acquired and distributed films like 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, Redacted, Chasseurs De Dragons, I'm Still Here, Aftershock, Lapland Odyssey and Panique Au Village.
