SPA

Section and Plan

A path leads one out of the main spa and into an under water sauna were one can lie down look at a glass ceiling that shows light through the rippling water. This provides natural light and a sense of water while feeling the evaporated water around them.

Transparent green ponds are used to seperate the large body of water for creating more private areas, more organic upper and under water experience, and absorbe sound.

Walk up to the entrance that stands alone on the peak of the facade.

From the lobby you can either go down a elevator or walk down the steps to changing area.

Sofa turns to the back of the elevator and a Enter into an elevator that contines a sofa and the client door opens into the Lobby. A Panaramic view of the lake is seen through the glass panels. can start registering.

After changing, you enter a cross section were you can chose the different pools depending on the temperature.

Detail: Each turn is defined by a cut towards the direction of the exit on curner of the wall.

Porous Matrix

Lighting Up and Down Two bamboo stickes and one strip of paper connect in a simple system to make a self supporting structure.

Graviting Self Parking Luggage In waiting lounges, the visitor can just leave their luggage at the path and it will slowly slidedown to a stop and secures it self. Just tilting the plain can change the orientation and use of a space.

Starbucks Cafe Plan, light plan and sections The darker area represent more activities. While poeple wait in line they can browse at the baskets and shelves filled with coffee and accessories. There are also five different lights that give the space its right tone. The mirror at the bake of the table not only makes the long space wider, it also makes customers more self causcious as to what they do on their computers since the mirror reflects their screen.

INHALE and EXHALE

Stair garden, coffee shop, office, Stage, and recording studios. This was for an StoryCorps, which is a unprofite that help poeple to record their life. Visiters can either enter from the or first floor or the forth floor. The first floor is connected with the highline and one can clime up a green staircase all the way to the back were the wall holds up a canopy to protect one from the weather. There is a staircase that goes down to a coffee shop and its translucent, which provides lighting and can open and close to create a thrashhold. once they got there drink they can choose to explore the rest of the building and learm more about the program or go up to poeple watch on the highline extension.

The stairs follow along a covered cut from the ceiling that brings light into the lower floors. The strip of light falls on the center of the stair to indicate it’s noon. The third floor cafe goes down to the second floor were there is a meeting room and a glass walk way (were you can peak into the first floor and theater) that take you to the offices. This distance give them more privacy, windows, and a view of the street. To get to the first floor, the stairs make a sharp right turn to reveal a outdoor indoor open space with a tree and greenary. This gives the one a chance to stop and enjoy the outside and than decide to either go to the right for the recording studios or the left for the stage. Those coming from the street or are handy caped can take a path through the garden and up elevators to reach the all the floors and bring them to the highline.
