Relays, Solenoids and Contactors Inspect for: • Cleanliness, obvious damage, corrosion, evidence of overheating, security of attachments and connections. • If protective covers are required to be removed: check for cleanliness, pitting or burning of contactors, evidence of overheating and security of contacts exposed. Electrical looms For the purpose of electrical inspections, it is understood that the stripping of looms is not normally contemplated, though in particular instances it may be required and will be called for at the discretion of the supervisor. Check for: • The condition of external cables within a loom or duct will be taken to indicate the condition of inner cables. • The condition of cables entering and leaving a conduit will be taken to indicate the condition of the cables within the conduit, unless otherwise suspect. Special precautionary checks All flight, engine, fuel and landing gear control systems: • Whenever inspections are made or work is undertaken on any part of above systems, detailed investigation must be made after completion to verify that distortion, tools, rags or any other loose articles or foreign objects cannot impede free movement and safe operation of the system(s). • Fuel systems: If, as a result of the application of this Maintenance Schedule, any part of the fuel system is dismantled, adjusted, repaired or renewed, affected parts of the system shall be checked for free movement and correct operation after completion of the work. Panel opening charts • Panel opening charts provide panel identification. • For the purpose of physical inspection, panel removal requirements shall not limit the degree of inspection required. Removal of other panels shall be at the discretion of inspection personnel.
