NEW MAIL! Hello, hello Key Clubbers! As you all know, the board and I haven't been able to meet everyone since the start of our term due to the occurrences of these difficult times, and there is still much

uncertainty within our world right now. I want to say that no matter the circumstance, health is always the most important. Make sure to always take precautionary measures to stay safe. Along with that, I'm sure that many of you are aware of the current activism surrounding the BLM movement, I want everyone to know that you aren't alone and we're all in this together! With that, I highly encourage everyone to take some time to educate yourselves and learn how to be a better ally. To end things on a lighter note, as summer is right around the corner, remember that there may not be as many of tomorrow's than yesterday's, so cherish all the small happiness around you! In love, service, and solidarity, Angel Dinh

HEY Key Clubbers! I hope you guys are making the most of your Quarantine. I know many of you are playing animal crossing hence this newsletter's theme!Â

Personally, with AP tests done I have had lots of spare time. So far, I have been re-reading the Harry Potter series-many of you guys know that I am HUGE Harry Potter fan hehe. Anyways, thank you so much to the people whom attended our online zoom meetings, it really means so much to see you guys there. Also, we just hosted our online banquet and I would like to congratulate all Hazen Key Clubbers for an amazing (school) year. I'm looking forward to our summer bondings and events! With our school year coming to an end, I hope you guys enjoy your summer. I would highly recommend spending some time outside to take advantage of Washington's rare sunshine! In love and service, Ellen Huynh :)

DRAGON OF THE MONTH APRIL Winnie Every month we recognize a member who has gone above and beyond as our "dragon of the month". Our dragon of the month for April is Winnie! Winnie is currently a senior and has been an a member of Key Club for 4 years. Winnie has been a dedicated member, attending may of our volunteer events. She has also been extremely active during our online Zoom calls! Her favorite Key Club memory was volunteering at the Hot Chocolate run her Sophomore year. She initially joined Key Club because her older sister was in the club but she stayed because she made many new friends. Something fun Winnie has done during quarantine was sing karaoke with her sisters at 4am.

DRAGON OF THE MONTH MAY Jolene Every month we recognize a member who has gone above and beyond as our "dragon of the month". Our dragon of the month for May is Jolene! Jolene is currently a sophomore and has been an a member of Key Club for 2 years. She has gone above an beyond by attending many of our online Zoom calls and won our Key Club trivia Kahoot! Jolene's favorite Key Club memory was attending the August DCM at Lake Meridian. She originally joined key club to get service hours. "I knew a lot people in key club so it was a good way to spend time with them while out volunteering". During Quarantine Jolene has kept busy by practicing the viola everyday!

Some thank you cards that were sent out to essential workers.

VOLUNTEER As Angel mentioned in her president's address, there has been lots of activism surrounding the BLM movement. Although this won't earn you hours, we urge you to take action. Educate yourselves, learn how to be a better ally, help spread awareness, sign petitions, go to protests (be safe!) and make donations if you can. https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/

Send positive letters/emails: You can earn hours by sending cards or letters to essential workers. Also send emails to teachers thanking them for their handwork and dedication.

Pick up trash: Our earth can always use some TLC! This is a great way to enjoy the weather and earn some hours. Make sure you stay safe!

Remember to turn in your hours! Simply send a picture of your volunteer form to an officer. A signature is not necessary and you can double dip!
