CURRENT TRENDS he overall CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI; top) for 2012 was 0.19% lower than the end-of-year average from 2011. Preliminary data from January 2013 CEPCI (the most recent available) indicate that capital equipment prices declined from December to January, by 0.09%. When compared to year-earlier numbers (from January 2012), the January 2013 preliminary Plant Cost Index stands at 3.74% lower. Meanwhile, the
