COVID-19 PREPAREDNESS PLAN | SAFETY POLICIES & PROCEDURES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
• Any visitors that must visit the Yard / Warehouse, must: o Follow all protocols and procedures as stated on this manual and CDC guidelines. o Coordinate their visit with the yard / warehouse supervisor prior to arriving. o Supervisor must approve clearance and take responsibility for their visitor. Restrooms •R estrooms to be utilized by only one (1) person at a time. • I mplement a smart system to inform others whether the restroom is occupied or vacant. •U se a sanitary wipe or paper product to open the door. •D iscard wipe or product in the nearest garbage pail. • Wash your hands before AND after using the restroom. •U se a sanitary wipe or paper product to open the door. •D iscard wipe or product before leaving the restroom. Commuting, Transportation & Vehicles • Avoid overcrowded public transportation. •M aintain safe distance from other passengers and wear PPE while commuting. •C onsider alternative solo transit modes such as bikes, scooters, cards. •M akes sure to sanitize touchpoints, especially if shared modes like public bicycles. • All vehicles must be designated one (1) driver ONLY (NO shared vehicles). • All travel must take place WITHOUT other passengers. •D rivers must disinfect vehicles before and after every use. • When pumping gas, use a sanitary wipe or paper product to hold the nozzle. • Avoid all non-essential travel. If you must travel, follow the strictest restrictions currently in place. •P lease notify your supervisor and Human Resources if you, or anyone in your household or someone you have close contact with, travels out of the tristate area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut). Upon return, you may be required to go through a standard testing protocol. Yard & Warehouse Cleaning •M aintain designated COVID-19 staff throughout the day / after hours. •R emain staggered to minimize overlap. • E nsure all staff is properly trained on maintenance and sanitation protocols. •P rior to cleaning commencement, ensure all staff practice hand hygiene prior to putting PPE on, and follow Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) requirements. •U tilize PPE at all times including while re-stocking and cleaning. •R eview pest control operational frequency. •R eview site inventory of cleaning chemicals, materials and consumables. • E nsure a safety data sheet is available for all chemicals and requirements for safe use are followed. • E nsure cleaning equipment and tools are in working condition. • Treat all surfaces using the proper approved disinfectants or authorized lists ensuring all chemical dwell times are adhered to. •R egularly sanitize and deep-clean heavy touchpoints and common spaces. •M aintain cleaning logs that document date, time and scope of cleaning. Before Leaving the Yard / Warehouse • E ach worker is to clean and disinfect their equipment, tools and machinery. • E ach worker should properly dispose of (single use PPE), or sanitize PPE in accordance with WHO or local regulatory requirements.
