COMING TOGETHER FOR A GOOD CAUSE

Hello team,

It was great seeing so many team members fundraising for the Alzheimer Society this past month Between our online efforts, individual team members, our home-based walks and our participation in the officials walks in Charlottetown and Moncton, we raised $13, 388. That's outstanding team and a testament to the kind of people we have working at Andrews and ProTem

It was equally inspiring to see how our homes celebrated our nursing teams during National Nurses Week As I said in my last team message, our nursing team members are at the core of our operation There's a quote from former U.S. President Barack Obama taped to the wall of the Andrews of Stratford activity room that reads, " nurses are the beating heart of our medical system " I couldn't agree more

Of course, all our team members are integral to our success as an organization Whether you ' re a nurse, a caregiver, a dietary aide, housekeeper or a program coordinator, what you do every day positively impacts our residents and strengthens our reputation for the better Which is why we launched our backpack program We want our team members to be proud of the work they do even when they re not at work The backpacks have been distributed to existing team members and will be given to new team members going forward I would like to thank Lynda and Amanda for their effort in making this happen

In addition to recognizing the hard work of our teams through extracurricular events, we will continue offering opportunities for growth to team members through existing training and development programs Courses like shift supervisor training, caregiver training and training through Surge, are ways team members can learn new professional skills and grow in their career. This is an area of particular value for us and one we continue to invest in through updated information and technological advancements like our new smart-board screen, that enhances the training experience.

I strongly encourage any team members interested in growing their skills to reach out to their supervisor or Jincy about the training opportunities available
