Setting Their Hope in GOD
electable God, Grant my dear children the grace to love Christ more than their father or mother, more than their son or daughter. For Your Son has said that if they fail to love Him supremely, they are not worthy of Him. And if they do not take their cross and follow Him, they are not worthy of Him. Therefore, because of Your grace and steadfast love, enable them to do so! May they not find their lives in this world and so lose them, but make them men and women who gladly lose their lives for Jesus’ sake so that they might find them. Father, I know that it pleases You well to hide things from the wise and understanding and reveal them to little children. Therefore please grow them in childlikeness, show them Your matchless Son, and may He choose to reveal You increasingly to them. My children, you who labor and are heavy laden, go to Christ, and He will give you rest. Take His yoke upon you, and learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Lord Christ, we praise and thank You that Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light! (Matthew 10 & 11).
