WITH 10 GOALS in a dozen appearances Natasha Dowie’s form was a major reason why the Reds enjoyed such an impressive first half of the WSL season.
Some forwards would be content to have already reached double figures and helped their side top the table. However, the number nine wants to do the same again between now and the end of the campaign.
“I’m greedy, I want to score more,” the 25-year-old laughs. “Another 10 would be very nice.” Regularly top-scorer during her time with former club Everton, the striker says her record prior to the summer break was the best scoring sequence she’s ever enjoyed. “I scored in a lot of consecutive games which was something I hadn’t really done before. Some people might find it quite sad but I remember every single goal. Scoring is quite a special memory, particularly if you’re a striker. “ Something else about Dowie’s net-finding feats has also been different to her previous efforts. “My lack of heading ability was a running joke for a long time,” she explains.
