Recreation Elkhart’s downtown riverwalk on a wintery evening. The city has 35 different facilities including parks, pavilions, a waterpark, twoskatepark, golf courses, greenways, and the downtown riverwalk, which now features an ice-skating/roller-blading path (depending on the time of year).[citation needed] At NIBCO Parkway, there is a skating rink which rents skates and serves hotchocolate in the winter months. In the summer, it turns into a free waterspray park. There is a new spray park at McNaughton Park on the city’s west side, as well.
Events The Elkhart Jazz Festival is a three-day event that takes place in late June on thebanks of the Elkhart River. It is known as one of the premier Jazz festivals in thenation. In 2007, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary. Each June, the Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department presents Rhapsody inGreen. It is a weekend event put on at the city’s Island Park. It is a typical summerfestival with live music and food. Also, the Elkhart Air Show is an annual event that takes place at the ElkhartMunicipal Airport at the end of July. It features a wide variety of airplanes old andnew. The event was canceled in 2007 due to financial issues. It is unclear whether the show is on hiatus or gone for good.[23] On February 9, 2009 President Barack Obama spoke to a crowd of thousands atConcord High School in an attempt to bolster support for his nearly trillion dollar economic stimulus package.

ELKHART
is a city in Elkhart County, Indiana U.S. The city is located 15 miles east of South Bend, Indiana 110 miles east of Chicago, Illinois, and 150 miles north of Indianapolis, Indiana. Elkhart has the larger population of the two principal cities of the Elkhart-Goshen Metropolitan Statistical Area, which in turn is part of the South Bend-Elkhart-Mishawaka. COMBINED STATISTICAL AREA in a region commonly known as Michiana. The population was 50,949 at the 2010 census. Despite the shared name, it is not the county seat of Elkhart County; that position is held by the city of Goshen, located about 10 miles southeast of Elkhart.
As of the census[2] of 2010, there were 50,949 people, 19,261 households, and 11,942 families residing in the city. The population density was 2,172.7 inhabitants per square mile (838.9/km2). There were 22,699 housing units at an average density of 968.0 per square mile (373.7/km2). The racial makeup ofthe city was 66.1% White, 15.4% African American, 0.6% Native American, 0.9% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 12.9% from other races, and 4.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were22.5% of the population. There were 19,261 households of which 36.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.7% were married couples living together, 18.5% had a female householder with no husband present, 6.7% had a male householder with no wife present, and 38.0% were non-families. 30.8% of all householdswere made up of individuals and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Theaverage household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.25. The median age in the city was 32.7 years. 29.1% of residents were under the age of 18; 9.4% werebetween the ages of 18 and 24; 27.5% were from 25 to 44; 22.5% were from 45 to 64; and 11.5% were 6 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.2% male and 51.8% female.

Find out how to implement “time blocking” fromfitness expert AJ Roberts. Imagine being the world’s strongest man. This means you would have lifted more weight thanany other guy on the planet. Tall order, right? AJ Roberts saw that challenge and took it on. In fact, he spent 10 years training to become thestrongest and when the test came, he delivered. I’ve known AJ for years and am not surprised he accomplished this amazing feat. In fact, he’s currently training to now become the world’s fittest man. But it’s not his incredible body, genetics, or awesome supplements that have gotten him his amazing wins. It’s his discipline tomake plan every day and stick to it. When we discussed his strategies for making time to work out (in addition to running abusiness), AJ credited time blocking as a key to his success. Time blocking is when you set aside focused intervals of time to do just one thing (like go to the gym, work on a specific task, and so forth) and make a point to adhere to that schedule for the entire day.

AJ pointed out that this principle is as successful in business and dieting as it is in working out because you don’t waste time deciding what to do all day. AJ holds that structure actually gives you freedom to do what you want because you knowyou’re going to accomplish what you need to, per your time blocking. If you are prepared, yourday can go according to plan. My own experience completely backs this idea up. When I was in high school, I attended aprivate boarding school where everything was very structured. From the minute I woke upuntil bedtime, I knew where I was supposed to be and what I was supposed to be doing, so Icouldn’t waste time. It was extremely helpful and taught me good habits early on (which Iadmit I don’t always follow).
