Practice
Damage control Open case inspections by DJMS proof their usefulness in practice. The water chambers for the Nyangan energy plant condenser suffered damage during transportation. Measurements of the paint layer’s thickness as well as a spark test show visible and invisible damage. Fixing these points is critical to avoid corrosion. The biggest challenge appears to be the climate, at approximately 500 km from the polar circle in West-Siberia. For components to be able to harden correctly, an environment of 22 degrees Celsius is essential. Using heaters of a substantial kW power size, steel and space were brought to the right temperature. In four consecutive days, fresh coating layers have been applied. The latest measurements by the coating specialist show that the water chambers have been delivered in top condition.

Repairing a loose part of an installation is feasible, even if one has to turn the atmosphere of an industrial warehouse into a warm living room. Inspection During a project, DJMS engineers perform regular inspections according to the Field Quality Plan. Checking qualification documents, witness dimensional controls, helping the contractor with method statements and welding procedure specifications. They witness visual, magnetic, dye penetration, X-ray, ultrasonic and pressure tests. Baring in mind the nature of the materials used and final purpose of an installation. The trained professionals are experienced to witness inspections and make sure any faulty is restored in the correct manner. Inspections are according to set standards by local rules, regulations and according to the contract.

Commissioning Projects managed by DJMS are commissioned upon completion. Commissioning entails testing and checking completeness as well as the quality of equipment. Our engineers check functions of valves, taps and pumps on site. DJMS regards projects finished when the site, machine parts and equipment are clean, tidy and all systems are go; safe and sound. Commissioning is the well documented final stage of the project. Certificates and signed checklists are the closing chapter of the initial Field Quality Plan.
