Dear friends,

Welcome to the first edition of our magazine. This magazine is aiming to improve your information in matters concerning our favorite Village. With this initiative we want to support the natural wealth of the village which is none other than its own people.

In the first edition of our magazine will read stories from older and younger residents. Stories from the grandfather, the grandmother and aunt sulfur that will awaken memories. As for the name of the magazine comes from the word rose. Agros is renowned for its secondary products from the roses. So we came up with the choice of the name. Talking about our principles and our goals, one of the major reasons due to issue of the journal therefore is to support and promote local businesses and the creativity of villagers. oh, and one last thing! Want to contribute? To write? To post a poem or a photograph, no problem! Send us your material and we will make sure to see it in the next version. Sincerely,

My village is Agros which is located in the province of Limassol.It is a mountain village and has about 1000 permanent citizens.The village is located in the center of the Troodos Mountains near the Paputsa top. 45 minutes away from Nicosia and Limassol and 20 minutes from Troodos. The great church dedicated to the Virgin. At the back of the picture is written ¨ Virgin Great Agros ¨, where the village got its name. The villagers engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, cold cuts and production coming from the rose like rosewater. Starting from Nicosia someone will

Costas Theodotou

The Nobelist Christopher Pissarides was born on February 20, 1948 and comes from Agros. He completed his studies in economics at the University of Essex in 1970 and his master’s degree next year. In 1973 he completed his doctorate at the London School of Economics. In 2010 he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics for his contribution to the theory of search frictions and macroeconomics in collaboration with Peter A. Diamond and Dale T. Mortensen. Also, Christopher Pissarides was awarded for his contribution to research on the labor market. One of the studies published in 1994 was “Creation and

destruction work in the theory of unemployment”, in collaboration with Professor Dale T. Mortensen. Considering the progress and work, there is no doubt that Dr.. Christopher Pissarides make proud not only of the village but also the entire island with its successes and international distinctions. Mary Yannaki

Εleftheria Elle Elleftheriou - Escape Club

Eleftheria Eleftheriou visited by our village for a one and only appearance at Escape Club. The event was held as part of celebrations of the Assumption and organized by the Youth Center Field. Also the concert was part of Aphrodisiac Tour organized to promote the song that will represent Greece in Eurovision 2012. Δείπνο Ηλιθίων Variety of events have been organized by various organizations of our village. The events consisted of parties, contests and birimpas Bingo and theatrical performances. Activities for all ages and all types. Events that offers fun and entertainment to those visiting the village cool on hot summer days. According to the information sheet issued the koinotiko our council organized events occupied the village for over two months. Briefly, on 20 July the Youth Center Field movie AKAMAS raised in memory of those killed in 1974. On August 5 Pliroforisis Youth Center organized a competition with a prize byrimpas 500.
