Welcome to the 2019 Belmont House Stud Stallion Catalogue Last year Belmont House Stud and its horses, particularly the stallions, had an amazing season during which many of our goals and dreams came true. It was a great achievement and the success of our horses speak for themselves, proving that here at Belmont, we offer stallions not only with top genetics, but also stallions that are successful at major competitions. Our homebred Celtic Hero B Z, while ridden by Damien Griffin, qualified for the Dublin Horse Show at the RDS - he qualified for the final and placed 6th in a very competitive class. His consistent results got him a ticket to represent Ireland at the prestigious World Breeding Championship in Lanaken, however his sale to American Nations Cup rider Heather Caristo Williams meant that the stallion left Ireland for the United States instead. Once over there, Celtic Hero B Z continued to shine; competing at the South American Young Horse Class, where in the final he finished in the top 15. This year already successful in the 7 year-old classes at WEF, the future of Team Caristo and Celtic Hero B Z looks bright! In 2019 Celtic Hero B Z will be available by frozen semen. Damien was also the jockey in charge of Ganesh Hero Z and together they had an exceptional season, winning not only the Dublin qualifier in Barnadown out of 100 starters, both qualifiers at the RDS and finishing 3rd in the finals. Ganesh Hero Z proved that he doesn’t just have a topclass pedigree, but that he is also a superior competition horse. Ganesh Hero Z is now sold to an International Investment Group and will be exclusively available at Belmont for this season only. This is a unique opportunity for the Irish breeder, aiming to breed high quality showjumpers or eventers as Ganesh Hero Z offers access to one of Europe’s most sought after bloodlines, a true athlete with over 70% xx blood.
Mr Lincoln B was aimed at the 4 year-old championship during the Cavan International show where he qualified for the preliminary and subsequently the final of the competition. Although still green Mr Lincoln B, ridden by Damien, finished impressively in 4th place and left for his new home in Germany at the end of 2018. In 2019 we have his full brother, Mr Quincy B at stud: an exceptional young stallion, 2018 winner of the RDS qualifier, out of the strong damline of a 1.60m jumper Wandonga, by the very popular Zangersheide based sire Aganix du Seigneur. As Luc Henry rightly quoted: “Mr Quincy B has it all to become a top horse and has the genetics to breed horses for the top sport.” Our magnificent newcomer Kassanova Hero B Z by Gregory Wathelet’s mount Kassander van’t Roosakker is another exciting addition to Belmont House Stud’s 2019 stallion roster. Equipped with carefulness, scope, power and size, Kassanova will surely win some Irish hearts and produce some impressive foals! As proactive and responsible breeders, we felt it was important to test all of our stallions for the hereditary diseases PSSM and WFFS and can confirm that all stallions are free from those genetic defects. An exciting prospect for both the showjumping or eventing breeder. Ganesh Hero Z is by Gemini xx, the clone of Olympic silver medallist Gem Twist xx. Ganesh Hero Z’s dam bred the 2015 Lanaken World Champion five year-old Kerswin van t’Roosakker. Other successful direct performers from this damline include: Cella (Ben Maher) leading WBFSH showjumper in 2013 and Electra van’t Roosakker (Jos Lansink) - 5* GP and Nations Cup sister of Ganesh Hero’s dam. Ganesh Hero Z carries more than 70% xx blood! In 2017 Ganesh Hero Z achieved 2nd at RDS qualifier and 5th at the RDS finals.

Kassanova Hero B Z’s grand dam China Touch Hero is the mother of three licensed stallions Akarad Hero Z (Jos Lansink stables), Best Friend Hero Z (Jerome Guery stables) and Don’t Touch Tiji Hero Z (Sea Coast stables) - the later sire of Zangersheide owned stallion Dourkhan Hero Z. Five of China Touch Hero’s progeny have already achieved results in classes between 1.40m and 1.50m. During the 2018 Z foal auction, Kassanova Hero B Z’s full sister Kenya Touch Hero Z was sold for € 30,000.

Crowned ‘Swiss Horse of the Year’, grand dam Wandonga is a successful 1.60m jumper who finished 3rd behind the stallion For Pleasure, at the richest indoor GP in the world, CSI Zurich. Mr Quincy B is a full-brother to Mr Lincoln B winner of the qualifier and the final of the Young Irelander CSI Millstreet 2017, winner of the 3 year-old RDS qualifiers and in 2018, ridden by Damien Griffin, finishing 4th at the CSI Cavan 4 year-old Championships. In 2018 Mr Quincy B won the RDS 3 year-old loose-jumping qualifier and placed 5th in the final at the Dublin Horse Show.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: We would like to make people aware that for this season all semen bookings must be completed by the owner/agent online on www.belmonthousestud.com - telephone bookings will no longer be accepted. The online form must include correct mare and owner details and you will need the name and registration number of the mare at time of booking. All semen will have to be prepaid before or at collection. The stud fee is a combination of booking/administration and pregnancy fee. To avail of a credit note (2/3 of the prepaid fee) for the 2020 season, it is the mare owner’s responsibility to supply Belmont House Stud with a veterinary certificate by 1.10.2019. Certificates issued at a later stage will not be accepted. NB: The online semen order is only definitive after confirmation with Andrea Etter by mail, text or by phone. We offer a ‘Live Foal Guarantee’ 48 hours after birth for our resident stallions. Abortion or death of foal needs to be certified by a qualified vet in writing within 3 days after foaling/abortion. Where a stallion is not available the following season, a substitute of our resident stallion list can be arranged. All stallions standing at BHS are available by artificial insemination, chilled semen. Where a mare owner wants to avail of the discount price (multiple mares) the first stud fee is charged at the full price and the following mares offered at the discount price. Chilled semen can be shipped directly to any address within the Republic of Ireland by courier/post and is also available for collection. Courier/Post charges are typically €30. Semen can be ordered daily until 10am. For optimum results we advise clients to collect the semen. The stud fee includes up to six deliveries of semen (for one mare only) per season/year. Extra semen will be charged at extra cost. Cooling containers will be charged at €20. If stallions have a heavy breeding or competition schedule, Belmont House Stud reserves the right to send a maximum of 1 insemination dose per oestrus. The breeding season starts on 27.3.19 and finishes on 15.9.19 By ordering and buying semen, the mare owner declares to have taken note of the conditions and declares to fully agree with these service and payment conditions, as well as with the stud fees. The stallions are normally available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, sometimes Saturday. VISITING MARES: Livery and veterinary charges must be paid at collection of the mare. Stud fees to be paid before first insemination. Livery of mare without foal €10 per day, mare with foal at foot €15 per day We do not accept liability for mares or foals kept at the “out farm” or at Belmont House Stud.
