O’Livas is a living complex project in the metropolitan area of Monterrey, Mexico. The main exterior open areas. Academic Project ITESM - Final Degree Workshop - December 2021

Urban Home

Urban Home comes from the premise of designing a high density complex in Monterrey`s Downtown in Mexico, consequently developing the idea of a multipurpose building.

The project is in the city’s heart just beside one of the main metro stations: Cuauhtémoc station. Therefore, a transport-oriented approach was taken, designing different purposes such as commerce, offices, housing, library, religious center and others. As the building grows in height the more private it gets, placing the housing on the top levels.

The main approach for this project was the building envelope, which was specially designed with thermal insulation and fire retardant materials. The technical specifications were made with Owens Corning products, as this project was part of a contest in the University Tec de Monterrey with the company. This project was awarded first place.

Intervention in Tepic - Puerto Vallarta Street

After an extensive process of investigation and analysis of Puerto Vallarta`s Downtown, some opportunity areas were identified on the Tepic-Puerto Vallarta Street, a high transited path parallel to the pier.

The intervention follows the guidelines of the Mexican Streets Design Manual, a document published by the Mexican Territorial Development Association. The objective of this intervention is to achieve a safe and inclusive street for its commercial use.

This experimental project takes place in the heart of the Park Casa de Campo located in Madrid, Spain. The exact location corresponds to the current zoo of the city, but this project explores the idea of the zoo no longer existing in the future. The main idea is to create a 2km interior running track, embracing the multipurpose building. The Sports Center contains spaces such as: restaurant, sport store, expositions room and other variety of spaces. The outdoor area works as a space for big celebrations in the park.

The New Mussara

The Mussara is located in the region of Terragona, at the north of Spain, it was abandoned in the 60s and nowadays are just some old ruins that somehow still stand. Located at the edge of a cliff, the Mussara is the perfect lookout. This project intends to reactivate the town, creating housing and everything essential for the new generation of the Mussara.

The plan geometry is inspired by the old monasteries, but as the design process went on, the perfect monastery plan suffers modifications until the final shape was achieved. Context

This project is in a residential area at south Monterrey, Mexico. Thought-out for a single typical family, the design includes everything for a comfortable life in it “L” form plan. Each façade responds to its orientation with the necessary elements of sunlight protection or allowing the sun to enter when is most necessary.
