This is how this happened
I’ve recently moved to Amsterdam with my husband and my dog. Away from Stockholm, into the unknown. Moving felt like a prompt to start things again, to revisit interests and art forms. I picked up my analog camera. Actually no, I picked up some undeveloped film from our fridge because there is a photo store on our street and I wanted to see my photos from our vacation in Greece 2017. Friends, those images brought back memories of both my favorite vacation and a favorite medium, analogue photography. The quality is just something else, it can’t be replicated. Related: I despise the iPhone 11 camera. Does it need to make everything so sharp and bright? Ugh. Back to analogue. I’ve wanted to make a zine for a long time. Editorial design brings me joy. I needed a theme, though, to set those restrictions that are so essential to my creativity. I started photographing my new city and let the prompt arise from the process. The theme: one single roll. And I have to create an editorial based on it. Here we go. On a roll. – Anders
