RANDALSTOWN IS BLOOMING BEAUTIFUL A bloomingly beautiful Randalstown was recently selected for the 2018 Ireland’s Best Kept Town competition, in the Small Town Category. Competition was stiff with a total of 14 top town entrants shortlisted out of a total of 125 entries, for judging at the final stage in this competition. At the prestigious awards ceremony in the Harbour Commissioners Office on 26 June, Randalstown was awarded first in their category of Small Town and also acheived Best Overall out of a total of 800 entries.

IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY… Since opening in 1999 by the Woodland Trust, Monkstown Wood has long been a beautiful site for a stroll. Located along the popular Newtownabbey Way, which runs from Mossley Mill to Belfast Lough, this Wood is a popular stop off point. Earlier this year the Council, in partnership with Woodland Trust, embarked on an improvement project, through funding secured by Biffaward. This funding helped to improve existing paths and install new ones, which help visitors to get closer to the Three Mile Water River, running through the wood. So if you would like to get out and about this summer, why not explore somewhere new and visit the Monkstown Wood, along the Newtownabbey Way.
