Porto, Portugal

My name is Ana Alvanéo, and I am a 24-year-old Master’s student at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (FAUP). During my studies, I had the privilege of participating in the Erasmus program at TU Berlin, followed by an enriching internship in the same city. This experience significantly deepened my interest in circular design principles, such as cradle-to-cradle and urban mining, as well as the sustainable use of resources and strategies for refurbishing and reactivating the existing built environment. Back in Porto, I became actively involved in the participatory side of architecture, collaborating in AEFAUP, the student association at my university, and engaging as a committed member of the academic community. I am currently completing my Master’s thesis, titled “Reuse in Architecture: An Opportunity for the Challenges of the 21st Century.” In the meantime, and knowing that the deadline for my thesis is flexible, I am actively seeking work opportunities either as an Erasmus intern or as a junior architect, aiming to begin in early 2025.
