Why Organic Cotton?

Organic cotton is naturally cultivated without the use of any synthetic agricultural chemicals, fertilisers, pesticides or transgenic technology. It was first planted in the 1980’s in an attempt to secure sustainable, ecological and biodynamic agriculture. Organic cotton is one of the most environmentally friendly material options, as the production process uses less energy, releases fewer greenhouse gases and due to the improved soil quality, uses significantly less water.

Made with environmental mindfulness, our Okiyo collection utilises recycled or sustainable materials. These garments are another step in our journey towards reducing our footprint and impact on the environment.

Why choose apparel manufactured from recycled yarn?

Recycled yarns have a reduced carbon footprint and are more sustainable. They lower the dependency on precious natural resources like land and fresh water and avoid the need for harmful chemicals, fertilisers, pesticides and dyes, which are detrimental to the environment.

Selected Okiyo garments are manufactured from recycled yarn produced by Usha Yarns. In-house research, quality control and the most modern production facilities ensure they produce high quality recycled yarns, which consistently meet global standards.
