Greenburgh Nature Center (GNC) is a nonprofit nature preserve and wildlife refuge with a mission to ignite passion, curiosity and respect for our natural world. GNC has been a leader in environmental education since 1975. The Center’s 33-acre property includes a woodland preserve with hiking trails, a pond, organic garden, nature’s discovery playground, native wildflower meadow, green roof, water collection demonstration areas, a barnyard and an animal museum. Approximately 83,000 people are served annually through educational programs and on-site seminars and visits. Program topics include recycling, waste management, composting, leaf mulching, plants, animal science, honeybees, maple sugaring and aquatics. Weekday art and nature classes are offered for young children and one or two adult programs or lectures are held monthly.
