Affordable Modular Homes (AMH) has a long history of trading between Asia and New Zealand. After extensive research and development on material and structural engineering the company settled on a single module manufactured to provide a fully flexible approach to building homes. This standard module is made of steel manufactured at our ISO 9001 partner factory and assembled in our factory at Rangiora. The modules can be utilised as a single unit for sleepouts or workers accommodation or by using multiple modules we can make a full three/ four-bedroom property. The company provides a 25 year guarantee on the frame and a 10 year guarantee on the sheet panel structure, the same as a Master Builder’s guarantee on a regular home.

Our range of compact homes includes the Duet, made of two modules and the Trio made of three. These units are constructed on a 6000 x 2500 base frame that is 2.91 high creating a spacious living area. Windows, doors, bathrooms and kitchens can be placed within the unit to suit the client’s requirements so that no two modules need to be the same. For example, we have fitted out a unit for a disabled person with accessible doorways and a bathroom featuring a high toilet and other fittings that make the unit livable. Other units have been joined together to form low-cost accommodation for backpackers. We have a single module fitted out as an office and break room for a business in Invercargill.
All fittings for bathroom, kitchens, electrical and plumbing are purchased in NZ and installed by registered contractors. This way we remain competitive in our pricing and ensure best possible quality. We work closely with the Waimakariri District Council to ensure all structures are compliant and are constructed to code compliance standards. AMH spent three years undertaking detailed research ensuring materials used in construction met NZ Standards. The company is fully confident that our range is robust, long lasting and a smart option for buyers.

Affordable Modular Homes understand the need for a range of adaptable and well-designed modular homes ideal for RSE seasonal worker accommodation, general farming accommodation, as a home office, sleepout or a smart holiday house. Architecturally designed and engineered in New Zealand we present the latest in innovative technology and the highest quality of New Zealand fixtures and fittings. Once assembled at our Rangiora factory we are able to deliver anywhere in New Zealand where units are easily lifted from truck onto prepared foundations. The units are manufactured to be easily moveable from site to site as required. Foundations are simple and we recommend steel screw piles as both cost effective and secure and can be inserted in a short period of time. Using screw piles ensures minimal damage to a site and when relocated the ground is quickly restored.

The basic module. The Solo Max is a single unit that features all of the characteristics of our basic module. Illustrated is the Max configured as a single unit, however the Solo Max can be assembled in multiple configurations to create large and innovative spaces.

SOLO MAX The Solo MAX is a single unit studio comprising an open living area and integral en-suite. It is finished internally with a choice of high-grade vinyl flooring, carpet or buyer’s choice or carpet tiles. It has LED lighting and numerous electrical outlets. All windows/doors are double glazed. The Solo was designed to be an attractive sleepout, worker accommodation, holiday rental or backpacker unit for camping grounds. Its structure includes a sturdy steel frame so that the Solo is easily transported and moved from site to site. Foundations are simple and we recommend six steel screw piles as both cost effective and secure. Screw piles for this unit can be inserted in under 90 minutes. Using piles this way ensures minimal damage to a site and when relocated the ground is quickly restored. External features include a large glazed flush door with adjacent glazing for maximum light.

THE DUET The Duet brings exciting design and elegance to the concept of Tiny Homes. This clever and compact unit is just under 30m2 and is 2.95 metres tall giving it extra spaciousness and flexibility. We are pleased to work with local kitchen manufacturers for specialty designed kitchens. The Duet offers a separate spacious bedroom area that has a full ensuite comprising shower, toilet and handbasin. The internal dividing wall is optional for people who prefer an open ‘studio unit’ design. The walls are finished with smart aluminium skirting and the floor can be high quality tongue and groove woodgrain vinyl or carpet. The Duet is generously supplied with heavy duty aluminium double glazed windows and doors. There are numerous LED lights and electrical outlets allowing flexible placing of appliances. Externally the Duet is made in contrasting grey colour steel and rolled steel frame The Duet is easily transportable in two units that are joined on site using specially designed waterproof inserts and steel capping over the joint.

THE TRIO The TRIO is a full two bedroom compact modular home that has been designed to maximise internal space. Just under 42m2 the TRIO comprises a kitchen, dining/living module and a connecting corridor to the bedrooms featuring a bathroom and laundry. The TRIO is designed with comfort in mind and includes a modern kitchen. It has a full height glazed door and large aluminium double glazed windows with attached insect screens. All electrical and plumbing systems are installed in New Zealand by qualified tradespeople and are ready for attachment to site services. The module has floors, walls and ceilings fully insulated to NZ residential standards and as all glass is double glazed they are easy and inexpensive to heat or cool. Fully relocatable, the TRIO can be transported to a prepared site and erected in a matter of hours.

The internal fit out is determined by the brief and the type of unit(s) required. Solo, Duet and Trio all have slightly different configurations. Please see drawings.
Bathroom:
Wet floor which includes shower to drainage outlet. Short vitreous dual flush toilet pan “S” or “P” type depending on brief. Vitreous washbasin, taps and under vanity.
Shower fittings with flexible hose to shower head.
Power and lighting: Generally fixed in NZ with standard sockets, switches and LED lamps. All electrical work is customised to suit brief. Plumbing and gas: Water heating is either by gas califont or an instant electric system. Kitchen fittings:

S/S sink and dual tap, 2 burner electric hob (gas optional) and range hood. Cabinetry with drawers, cupboards and accommodation for fridge, microwave oven.
The structural frame has been designed and manufactured to meet NZB1 of the building code. The frame and steel components have been hot-dipped galvanised and finally powder-coated to withstand corrosion to give a service life of >20yrs. Maintenance Not required under normal circumstances for a period of >10yrs.
