PERFORMING ARTS DEPARTMENT LAMDA
Susannah Wilson
LAMDA tuition is offered to pupils in Years 3-8 in addition to their curriculum Drama/PFA lessons. The focus of this CCA is to promote self-confidence, develop communication skills, and to give learners the opportunity to explore and enjoy performance and public speaking. Technique is taught using vocal and physical exercises, improvisation, scripted scenes and fun drama games. Role-play is used to create and explore original, imaginative and entertaining characterisations.

Prep School (Years 3-8)
LAMDA lessons are generally taught in groups of 6 pupils in sessions of 30 minutes. Pupils do not miss academic lessons as sessions are run at break and lunch times. Timetables are the same each week throughout the term and will be displayed on the board outside the PFA Office.
Applications will be confirmed at the start of each term once timetables have been arranged.
Individual tuition may be arranged by special agreement.
Reporting
Progress is monitored throughout the year with regular updates to parents throughout the term. All pupils taking a LAMDA examination will receive a full mark sheet and certificate from the examining board.
Examinations
Pupils are under no obligation to take examinations but it is recognised that in most cases they provide a valuable incentive and measure of progress. Acting or Verse and Prose exams for LAMDA will usually take place during the Michaelmas Term.
Pupils entered for examinations will incur additional charges and exam fee, details of which will be advised at the time.
Additional requirements for tuition
Pupils should provide an A4 folder (any type) in which to keep their work, with a notepad, highlighter, and pen/pencil. This should be brought to each session.
Fees
Payment for tuition will be invoiced directly at the start of each term by Mrs Wilson. Group lessons are £85.00 per term, based on 10 sessions per term.
