ACA Sire Directory Planned
Planning for the 2022 ACA Sire Directory is currently in the works and breeders are encouraged to add their bulls to the listing. The Sire Directory gives Chianina breeders and those outside the breed the opportunity to see what genetics are available.
The Sire Directory will debut at the Cattlemen’s Congress in January and will be handed out throughout the spring and summer.
If you are interested in adding your bull to the listing, please contact Dustin Hurlbut at dustin@chicattle.org or 605-380-8052. Deadline is Nov. 15.
-C- The Difference Sale Planned for January at the Cattlemen’s Congress
The National -C- The Difference Sale will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1 pm at the Cattlemen’s Congress in Oklahoma City. Breeders are encouraged to consign your best to the sale. Bulls, heifers and bred females are eligible for the sale. Consignments will be due November 1. Contact Dustin Hurlbut if you are interested in consigning to the sale.
2021-2022 All-American Shows Announced
The shows listed below have been designated as All-American Point Shows for the 2021-2022 show season. Points will be tallied from junior and open shows if applicable. • National Junior Heifer Show • Eastern Regional Junior Show • Western Regional Junior Show • State Fair shows open to all exhibitors • World Beef Expo • American Royal • North American International Livestock Exposition • Great Northern Livestock Exposition • Cattlemen’s Congress • National Western Stock Show • Ft. Long Range Plan Created – Volunteers Needed
The 2021-2025 ACA Long Range Plan has been completed and we are asking members to read over the plan, find an objective they are passionate about and volunteer to help the ACA accomplish the objective. You can find the full plan included in this issue of the ACJ, as well as on the ACA website under the Membership Tab. The ACA Board of Directors voted to increase the junior membership renewal fee from $25 to $50 starting January 1. This increase will provide all junior members a subscription to the ACJ, allowing them to receive the same benefits as our adult membership.
ACA Annual Meeting Notice
The ACA Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 16 at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Ky. The meeting will begin at 1 pm in the West Hall. All active ACA members are invited to attend the meeting. Members will hear a recap of the ACA year and annual awards will be presented. If you have questions regarding the Annual Meeting, please contact Heather at heather@chicattle.org. We hope to see you there.
Submit Upcoming Sales & Events
Do you have an upcoming sale or event that needs to be listed on the ACA upcoming events? Send this info to Heather at heather@chicattle.org and we will add it to our upcoming events listing in the ACJ as well as on the website. This is a free service to our members. Don’t miss out.
Photos Needed for Breed Promotion
The ACA is in need of current photos to use for breed promotion throughout various publications, brochures and other media. While you are out in your pastures, take some photos of your cattle and email to Heather at heather@chicattle.org. We need photos of bulls, females, calves, herds, feedlot photos, kids working with their calves and more. The options are endless. Thanks for your assistance is helping us promote this breed we all love.
