Birkie & Korte Wave Placement Wave seeding is based upon your best Birkie or Korte race finish time from the past three years and is determined by the following hierarchy: 1. Result of the same race (Birkie or Korte) and technique (classic or skate) for which you are registering; 2. Result of different technique (classic or skate) in the same race (Birkie or Korte) for which you are registering, plus an adjustment factor; 3. Result of different race (Birkie or Korte) in the same technique (classic or skate) for which you are registering; plus an adjustment factor; 4. Result of different race (Birkie or Korte) and different technique (classic or skate), plus adjustment factor. 5. If no time results are available, you will be placed in the last wave. Change Requests • If you do not have a Birke or Korte result from the past three years, you may submit a request to utilize a result from a Birkie qualifying race to be placed in a seeded wave. • If you are seeded from a Birkie or Korte result from the past three years, you may submit a request to utilize a result from a Birkie qualifying race to be placed in a higher seeded wave. • Please see www.birkie.com for eligible qualifying races and procedures for submitting wave seeding request. • All wave change requests must be made by 4:00 pm, CST, January 27, 2017 and a $15 fee will be charged for all requests. • Please note that if a wave has filled at the time of your registration or change request, you will be placed in the next available wave. • We reserve the right to manipulate the seeding of waves in order to create balanced, safe waves for all skiers. • All Korte skiers 13-20 years old may ski in a newly created U20 Korte Wave.
