2017 AMCHAM CARES AWARD RECIPIENTS CORPORATE AND SOCIETAL ACTION: RECOGNITION FOR EXCELLENCE IN SINGAPORE AmCham CARES recognizes American companies in Singapore that have demonstrated a strong understanding of the linkages between business operations and society, and that conduct business in a way that creates both long-term economic and social value. AmCham CARES is not a competition. It is a platform to benchmark, share best practices, and discover ways to improve companies’ current CSR programs. AmCham CARES: • Raises awareness of CSR and corporate citizenship among AmCham members; • Recognizes firms with best practice programs; • Gathers information about best practices to share with all AmCham members; and • Demonstrates continued AmCham leadership among chambers in Singapore. Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin and U.S. Embassy Charge d’Affaires Stephanie Syptak-Ramnath joined AmCham in presenting the AmCham CARES recognition to the 42 businesses featured in this booklet. The ceremony was held in conjunction AmCham’s 44th Annual General Meeting on April 27, 2017.

ExxonMobil believes in making a positive impact in every country we operate in. Through the years, many students and residents have benefitted from our activities and programs, which span the areas of Environment, Education, Arts, and Civic & Community. We have also helped improve our living environment and come to know our neighbors better, particularly those in the South West District, where our offices and manufacturing facilities are located. We are also making a growing impact in our local community. From just one flagship employee volunteerism activity – the Blood Donation Drive – of 2010, the company has expanded its community footprint to other touch points through Junior Achievement, Adopt-A-Rental-Block and other employee volunteerism initiatives. FOUR SEASONS HOTEL & RESORTS Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts continually strive to involve employees and guests in the common goal of preserving and protecting the planet, and contributing back to society. In Singapore, Regent Singapore, A Four Seasons Hotel, together with our sister property Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, have supported the Run for Hope, in aid of NCC Research Fund since its inception in 2008. Over the years, more than 100,000 runners have passed through symbolic Singapore icons such as the Botanic Gardens, Sentosa and East Coast Park. Through this initiative, both hotels have raised slightly over S$4 million for the cause. Within the Hotel, our green commitment relies on the pro-active Hotel-wide efforts of all our employees; with initiatives managed by our Green Committee – comprising representatives from all divisions and support from our owners. Through energy and water savings, waste reduction and the adoption of Green building practices and technologies, our property was the first hotel in Singapore to be awarded Building and Construction Authority’s (BCA) Green Mark Gold Plus award and Public Utilities Board (PUB) national water agency’s Watermark award. The Hotel also participates in Four Seasons Corporate’s ‘Support Sustainability’ movement which offers guests the option to be part of a good cause by choosing not to have their bed sheets and towels refreshed until after a few nights of stay. Regent Singapore also uses only environmentally-friendly detergent and cleaning chemicals. Additional efforts in energy conservation include guest room air-condition settings, which can be customized to suit each guests’ preference after checkin. In addition, water efficient devices were installed in guest room tap and showerheads, rain sensors for our irrigations system and recycled water is used in all our cooling towers and fountains.

SEALED AIR PTE LTD OVER

1,400 TONS of soap recycled

Soap for Hope™ is a CSR initiative by Sealed Air which recycles used soap from hotels into reconstituted bars of soap. These are then distributed to underprivileged communities that do not have access to basic sanitation and healthcare. The program’s objectives are three-fold - to save lives by giving free soap to communities that have no or limited access to soap; to enhance livelihoods to the local community through soap-reycling; and to help hotels reduce waste and protect the environment through recycling soap. The recycling process is based on a simple cold-press method designed by Sealed Air, which is easy to operate without running water and electricity. To-date, Soap for Hope is in 31 countries, 94 cities, with 380 partner hotels onboard. Over 1,400 tons of soap have been recycled into 11.6 million soap bars, reaching out to 590,000 beneficiaries annually.

UPS ASIA PACIFIC In Singapore, UPS employees contributed over 11,000 hours of volunteer hours to community services in 2016. UPS volunteers give back to the local communities through a broad range of activities, such as food delivery for low-income families, home-cleaning for the old, arts education for disadvantaged children and tree planting. In 2016, UPS also teamed up with the Pathlight school to enhance its online retail capabilities and improve its back-end processes. Pathlight, a school for children with autism, maintains a retail platform “The Art Faculty” to promote the talent of its students and graduates. During the State visit of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his wife to Washington DC, Mrs. Lee’s Pathlight-designed purse triggered a surge of online sales, leaving the organization with urgent fulfilment needs. UPS volunteers assisted with pick and pack activities to process the back-orders. Since then, UPS worked to establish ongoing support for Pathlight through the UPS Foundation.
