WINTER FROLIC Feb. 10-11 The annual Two Harbors Winter Frolic includes events the whole family will enjoy, including a medallion hunt, snow sculptures, sledding and skating. Friday night events include the restaurant chili cookoff, the community curling challenge, and the city vs. county exhibition curling challenge. Saturday is also jam-packed with events, starting with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. There’s also a photo scavenger hunt, the winter t-ball tourney, open community curling, the vintage snowmobile ride, live music, a bonfire with free s’mores and a bean bag tournament. CLOUD CULT Feb. 11, Saturday Originally from Duluth, Cloud Cult is an experimental indie rock band led by singer Craig Minowa and features two live painters on stage and background visuals. Known for being an independent band, they’ve released 10 studio albums and declined major record label deals. They’ve also received multiple awards and accolades from MTV, the New York Times and Entertainment Weekly. This well-known and highly anticipated group will perform at Papa Charlie’s in Lutsen at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance or $16 at the door. Must be 21 or older to attend. lutsen.com
VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE RIDES This month, multiple vintage fun runs will take place along the North Shore. The first is in Two Harbors on Saturday, Feb. 11, featuring food, prizes and fun. Registration for the Winter Frolic Vintage Snowmobile Ride is at the Two Harbors airport between 9-11 a.m. Ride leaves at 11 a.m. and will arrive in Two Harbors around noon. Then, on Saturday, Feb. 25, head to Cascade Lodge in Lutsen for the Blast from the Past Vintage Snowmobile Ride, hosted by the Lutsen Trail Breakers Snowmobile Club.
