Longtime friends and supporters are used to seeing these products all together in one catalog, so it is with excitement and some trepidation that we introduce a stand-alone card and gift catalog. Too long in the shadow of our exceptional calendar program, our card and gift business is rapidly growing up and demanding a place of its own. We can’t help feeling both proud and nervous as we send it out into the world. From the calligraphic genius of Renée Locks (pages 16–20) and the contemporary whimsy of Duirwaigh Studios (pages 11–14) to the traditional Sacred Images of Tibet (page 29), there is something here for everyone. We strive to pair remarkable artwork with sentiments that reflect the full range of the human experience. As we move ever forward with our mission to illuminate spirit in the world, we remain mindful of our responsibility to the planet we share. As part of our commitment to the environment, we planted 100,000 trees in 2012 and have committed to plant 120,000 in 2013. Trees for the Future estimates that these trees, along with those previously planted, will remove 8,250 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere every year – more than 16 times the CO2 produced annually by our publishing operations.
