LOOSE PLAN REFINED PLAN
The scope of work for the Urban Hive project was to design an open office floor plan for Urban Hive – Buzz Work-Space in Edmonton. We started with space planning using the design process to give the client an optimum spatial design solution for their Buzz Work-Space. The space plan included specification of furniture, furniture finishes, and furniture materials reflective of the client’s requirements, needs and vision. We had to justify our choices through programming, research, and feedback from our instrustor through the design process.

FURNITURE PLAN After finishing the design process we were able to conclude with a final furniture plan. This supported the client’s requirements of a Reception Area, Staff Locker Room, Mail Area, Printer Areas, Computer Server Room, Coffee Stations, Kitchen, Lounge, Storage Room, Small Meeting Rooms, Phone Booths, Small & Medium Private Office Space, Designated Desk Space, Open Office Space, and Hoteling Space.

MOOD BOARD We continued working on the Urban Hive project into Part B, where we were to design other parts of the 3 storey building in Edmonton. One specially, was to design the reception area on the first floor individually. We created an inspirational mood board for our client to get a good idea of what they would like and to connect on that same idea.
We designed a reception desk and feature wall on the first floor of Urban Hive- Buzz work space. In our assignment we had some constraints such as sizes, on how to design these objects while including all requirments.

AS-BUILT FLOOR PLAN
In this project we worked on how to make an as-built plan, demo plan and final plan that displayed the kithen renovation of the Fischer Residence. First, we input the as-built floor plan into AutoCAD with the appropriate layers. Next, we crated the demo plan “on top of the as built floor plan from information provided verbally in class. We had to take notes and listen carefully for the correct information to pursue forward.
We created a new floor plan “on top of the as built and demo plan from information provided in the new floor plan handout and in class. The new floor plan handout included information on walls, millwork, equipment, and furniture. We include notes, legends, and dimensions as required to clearly communicate the intent of the drawing to our client.

BLUE PARROT PROJECT
The Blue Parrot was a year long project where we worked on the building envelope by adding exterior walls and parapets and themn moving on to the storefront windows and doors. Next, the site plan was made and exterior materials and entourage was added to pursue with a final rendering.

In the interior, we made a reflected ceiling plan where we focused on creating a bulkhead with soffit walls over top of the bar location. Acoustic clouds and custom ceilings were also added to further design our restaurant. Next, we created a custom staircase with railings to enhance our design aswell as a feature wall. Lastly, we worked on a custom model-in-place bar where we learned how to work with extrusions in Revit. This allowed us to create a custom bar and added our choice of custom materials.

FIXTURING PLAN
This existing washroom required an upgrade to accommodate new finishes, and the addition of lockers, showers, Barrier Free Toilet and accessories. In class, we were given a floor plan and instructed on what was to be demolished and what we needed to add to the washroom. After changing the floor plan, our duty was to look at specifications sheets and choose the proper fixtures and accessories to complete a universal washroom.

In the beginning we were assigned groups of 6 where we first did a site anaysis and planned which types of rooms were neccessary for a building at Central Stage- Cooking Lake, Blackfoot. We were given a program where we developed these rooms and continued with creating an ajacentcy matrix and data sheets. As a group we continue with bubble diagrams, bubble plans and block plans. Next, our groups were spit and we were working on our own. We asked for feedback from Architects and from our instructor to pursue with preliminary massing, final building envelope and final floor plan. After recieving feedback each of us indidually create our own design of a building for this space.

The Newport Community Centre was orginally a design project that translated into construction documents. Most design features in the building were based on using design elements and principles. Once developed, the assignments was to talke all our conceptual drawings and input them into construction drawings using Revit. We did this by finding alternatives materials and products that would be suitable to the construction while not changing the design to much from the orginally design. There were some changes that needed to be made because of proper construction.

HAND DRAWINGS
This assignment we chose a ‘surprise word or sentence’ in class and were to create a pitcure of something that was unique to us from our topic word. I chose “close up” and “from the beginning”. For “close up” I chose to draw leaves with a magnify glass to show the uniquness of how a leaf is created. The amount of detail and work in one little leaf is amazing. For “In the Beginning”, I chose to draw a photo of the ear thcase being held in #9760428 God’s hand. The earth is so unique and much
