From the President > It is my pleasure to present the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce 2013 Community Guide and Directory. This guide serves as a resource for business and offers community information about the Lake Houston area for local people and others who may be considering relocating to this dynamic area of Texas. The Lake Houston Area offers access to superior education, exceptional healthcare, numerous shopping, service, and dining venues, and a wide variety of recreational opportunities. This is a vibrant community, and the Chamber is diligently working to keep the area a great place to work, live, play and succeed. The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce gears all of our efforts toward developing a healthy economic climate for our citizens and the businesses that operate in our area. Whether it is through attraction of new businesses, expansion of existing companies, representation of our area on local state and national issues that affect our economy, or the expansion of small businesses, our focus remains the same – develop and promote the economy and quality of life in the Lake Houston Area. We ask you to review our Chamber Strategic Plan and see where you can bring your talents to a program designed to help build a better Lake Houston Area economy. From the Board Chairman > The Lake Houston area is blooming with great accomplishments and our Chamber offers you the opportunity to be involved as we go forward with purpose. We have many positive initiatives underway that will make this an exciting and rewarding year for the Lake Houston Area Chamber – from direct value for our members to economic development. We have a strong and supportive Chamber staff, led by our Chamber President, Charlie Dromgoole. Our service area is comprised of multiple cities, counties and communities. Collectively we share common goals regarding job creation, transportation, security, and quality of life. We believe the Lake Houston Area Chamber is the one entity that can represent the entire region to insure these goals are addressed. We will continue to grow our membership and promote commerce among our members with a focus on the value of being a Chamber member. We are committed to listening to the business community and assisting in providing solutions to their challenges. A key focus this year and beyond is economic development. We have made great strides in creating the foundation for this effort and have dedicated resources that will produce fruit for 2013. During the year we will host numerous events providing you an opportunity to showcase your business or network to potential customers. Please participate and take advantage of these opportunities. Finally, I would like to thank the businesses, organizations and individuals comprising our membership for your support and active involvement. It is an honor and a privilege to serve as chairman of the board for the Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce this year.
