SOBRE MI
Me llamo Amaya Fernández Casado. Nací en Madrid pero me mudé a Barcelona cuando tenía 5 años. Desde entonces vivo aquí en Barcelona. Estoy en mi 6º año de universidad en la Escuela de Diseño e Ingeniería ELISAVA de Barcelona. Me gusta estar al tanto de las nuevas técnicas en diseño y medios. Dispuesta a obtener tantos conocimientos y experiencias como sea posible. Especializada en diseño de producto. Voluntad y capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente y como parte de un equipo. Capaz y feliz de trabajar dentro de las pautas del producto, especialmente mobiliario y objetos personalizados. Tengo sed de conocimiento y soy una persona entusiasta y creativa, interesada en la formación profesional y también como persona para llegar a más gente. Soy una persona feliz, motivada, espontánea, de mente abierta y educada. Puedo adaptarme al cambio y aprendo de todas las experiencias vividas tanto en la experiencia profesional como en la personal. Me encanta viajar, bailar y salir con amigos.

ABOUT ME
My name is Amaya Fernández Casado. I was born in Madrid but I moved to Barcelona when I was 5. Since then I’ve been living here in Barcelona. I’m coursing my 6st year at ELISAVA’s School of Design and Engineering of Barcelona. I like to keep abreast of new techniques in design and media. Willing to gain as much knowledge and experiences as possible. Specializing in product design. Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Able and happy to work within the product guidelines, specially furniture and custom objects. I have a thirst for knowledge and am an enthusiastic and creative person interested in training professionally and also as a person to reach more people. I am a happy person, motivated, spontaneous, open minded and polite. I can adapt to change and I learn from all the experiences lived as in the professional experience as in the personal. I love traveling, dancing and hanging out with friends.

Para la asignatura de Proyectos I se nos planteó un ejercicio en el que tendríamos que diseñar y crear una colección objetos de los cuales tendríamos que elegir uno y desarrollarlo. (Mesa auxiliar, altavoz, lámpara, carrobar y barbacoa) Este objeto que teníamos que diseñar tenia el principal objetivo que encajar en cuanto a diseño en una casa propia del Racionalismo Catalán, obra del arquitecto Antonio Bonet en estrecha colaboración con el propietario Ricardo Gomis y su esposa Inés Bertrand Mata. Su construcción es una continuación de los trabajos realizados por el arquitecto en Punta Ballena, Uruguay, con la Casa Berlingieri, donde el uso coherente de la estructura formada por pilares y vuelta catalana da lugar a espacios de gran profundidad y transparencia. El objetivo final del proyecto era realizar ese objeto a escala 1:1 y lo más realista posible junto con un dossier explicativo con el desarrollo del proyecto y una selección de fotos del objeto realizado.

For the subject of Projects I, they presented with an exercise in which we would have to design and create a collection objects which we would have to choose one and develop it. (Auxiliary table, loudspeaker, lamp, cart and barbecue) This object that we had to design had the main objective to fit in terms of design in a house of Catalan Rationalism, designed by the architect Antonio Bonet in close collaboration with the owner Ricardo Gomis and his wife InĂŠs Bertrand Mata. Its construction is a continuation of the works carried out by the architect in Punta Ballena, Uruguay, with the Casa Berlingieri, where the coherent use of the structure formed by pillars and Catalan turn gives rise to spaces of great depth and transparency. The final goal of the project was to make this object at a 1: 1 scale and as realistic as possible along with an explanatory dossier with the development of the project and a selection of photos of the object made.

Tang era y es un producto que no ha ha tenido mucho éxito, por lo que queremos hacer un cambio radical en la forma de presentar la bebida en polvo a los usuarios. La idea es que en lugar de vender el producto en sí, queremos venderlo a través de una experiencia completamente nueva. Las ventas de Tang fueron malas hasta que la NASA usó en el vuelo Mercury de John Glenn en Febrero de 1962 y misiones Gemini posteriores. Desde entonces, ha estado de cerca asociado con el vuelo espacial tripulado programa de los Estados Unidos. Comenzando a partir de este concepto de “NASA”, el espacio, agregando un toque de modernidad para actualizarlo, creamos un estilo completamente nuevo para la marca Tang. Para el juego de Tang Invaders, cada jugador debe llevar la equipación para jugar. Como el juego se basa en una batalla de pólvos, cada jugador llevará una pistola con un cargador que contiene bolas de polvo. A parte de esto, llevarán un traje diseñado especialmente para el juego que se completa con un cinturón. Este cinturón tiene una funda para poner y llevar un botella. La botella es el elemento principal de la juego, es la clave para crear su Bebida Tang. Cada equipo se diferenciará gracias a un cambio en el color de los puntos en mangas y bajos del pantalón.

Tang was and is a product that has not been very successful so we want to make a radical change in the way of presenting the powdered drink to the users. The idea is that instead of selling the product itself, we want to sell it through a whole new experience. Tang’s sales were bad until NASA used it on John Glenn’s Mercury flight in February 1962, and later Gemini missions. Since then, it has been closely associated with the manned space flight program of the United States. Starting from this concept of “NASA”, the space adding a touch of modernity to update it and that was not so much technological, we have created a completely new style for the Tang brand.

For Tang Invaders’ game, each player must wear or carry his equipment in order to play. As the game is based upon a powder-battle, each player will carry a gun with a charger containing powder bullets. A part from this, they will be wearing a suit designed specially for the game which gets completed with a belt. This belt has a cover to put and carry a bottle, a bottle that also all the players will carry with themselves. The bottle is the main element in the game, it’s the key to create your own Tang drink. Each team will be differentiated thanks to a change in the color of some little dots in the suit: at the end of the sleeves and at the end of the legs.

En la asignatura de Materiales avanzados se nos plantea el reto de diseñar materiales a partir del residuo de hilatura de la empresa INTERCOT utilizando procesos de manipulación de tipo Do-It-Yourself (DIY), recurriendo a técnicas inventados por nosotros mismos. Dicho residuo está constituido por 3 mezclas diferentes de porcentajes variables de fibras (de cáñamo, lino y algodón) y polvo del propio material, desprendidos durante todo el proceso de hilatura. Estas fibras presentan muy corta longitud, lo que no las hace reprocesables mediante el proceso de hilatura. Nuestra propuesta para el nuevo material consiste en un fieltro hecho con la mezcla de fibras de lana virgen y el residuo de las fibras de cáñamo. Por separado la lana y el cañamo tienen propiedades excepcionales por lo tanto planteamos que si al juntar dos componentes con propiedades tan óptimas sería posible crear un nuevo material compuesto con unas caracteristicas excelentes. El fieltro es un textil no tejido, en forma de lámina, cuya característica principal es que para fabricarlo no se teje, es decir, que no surge del cruce entre trama y urdimbre, como ocurre con las telas. A menudo, puede presentar un revestimiento que le proporciona ciertas propiedades como impermeabilidad y resistencia al desgarro, entre otros. También puede teñirse mediante colorantes. In the subject of Advanced Materials we were challenged to design materials from the spinning residue of the INTERCOT company using Do-It-Yourself (DIY) handling processes, using techniques invented by us.That residue is made up of 3 different mixtures of variable percentages of fibers (hemp, flax and cotton) and dust from the material itself. Released during the entire spinning process. These fibers are very short in length. Which does not make them reprocessable through the spinning process. Our proposal for the new material consists of a felt made with a mixture of virgin wool fibers and the residue of hemp fibers. Separately, wool and hemp have exceptional properties.Therefore we propose that if by joining two components with such optimal properties it would be possible to create a new composite material with excellent characteristics. Felt is a non-woven textile, in the form of a sheet, whose main characteristic is that it is not woven to manufacture it, that is, it does not arise from the crossing between weft and warp, as occurs with fabrics. Often, it can have a coating that provides certain properties such as waterproofing and tear resistance, among others. It can also be tinted using dyes.

La empresa Albufera Energy Storage estaba desarrollando sistemas de almacenamiento de energía innovadores y buscaban ideas de carcasa para las futuras pilas, sea para vehículos (1a aplicación) o para aplicaciones estáticas (2a aplicación). Es por eso que nos plantearon a los alumnos concebir varias propuestas de modelo de carcasa que aborden estas características, además de que se adapten a la realidad social y que sean sostenibles. La propuesta de diseño final consistió en una bateria con doble usabilidad. Por una parte la de proporcionar energia al VEL ( vehiculo electrico ligero) y por otra parte como fuente externa de energia para otros dispositivos gracias a la opcion de cambio en los modulos de las esquinas, los cuales podian ser desde un adaptador para el movil, como para el ordenador. Cualquier dispositivo que precise de energia sin tener la necesidad de hacerlo desde un enchufe. Además de presentar un diseño menos tecnologico y frio, utilizando en el materiales como el cuero vegano, textiles y acabados soft touch para darle un aspecto visual mas bello. Además de la posibilidad de personalización en el diseño de la carcasa con modulos intercambiables. AMAYA FERNÁNDEZ 3 2

Albufera Energy Storage company was developing innovative energy storage systems. Was looking for housing ideas for future batteries, be it for vehicles (1st application) or static applications (2nd application). That is why they asked the students to conceive several proposals for a carcass model that address these characteristics, in addition to being adapted to social reality and being sustainable. The final design proposal consisted of a battery with double usability. On the one hand to provide energy to the LEV (Light Electric Vehicle) and on the other hand as an external source of energy for other devices to use in the domestic environments. Thanks to the option of changing the modules in the corners, which could be from an adapter for the mobile, as for the computer. Any device that requires power without having to do it from a plug. In addition to presenting a less technological and cold design, i decided to use materials such as vegan leather, textiles and soft touch finishes to give it a more beautiful visual appearance. Also an interchangeable and customizable casing.
